Our Antique Iron Collection, walk around - Caterpillar, Farmall and more...

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I have had a great numbers of requests to do a walk around of out antique iron collection, well here it is. This footage was shot a couple months ago but I just never got around to getting the editing done, finally got around to getting it up. Our collection consists of both construction and agricultural equipment. If you have any questions or would like to see more of something specific please let me know in the comments, and I will do my best to accommodate. As always thanks for watching, I greatly appreciate it. If you like this stuff don't to like and subscribe to the channel.

Grape farmers in the area I grew up in had D-2s. The only thing having to do with electricity was the Magneto for the pony motor.

There's a retired/semi-retired contractor that lives up near my hometown. Several years ago he gave me permission to take pictures of his vintage heavy equipment: 13 Unit cranes/backhoes, 45 Caterpillars from D6-D8's with some that were parted out, 8-Model 12's, 955's,944 wheel loader, 977, Letourneau pull scraper and many International dump trucks. I think he was more of a "hoarder" than a collector since nothing was restored. Some of his equipment looked to be in fantastic shape despite the long, hard winters. One of the things that he said to me before I left was, " and nothing's for sale."

6:07 Little D4? I wish I had my late father’s 22. Just a drawbar tractor. It had the 14 inch orchard tracks, so it looked less like a toy than it might have looked with narrow tracks. 7.5 mph flat out! And a neighbor had an even smaller Oliver crawler.

@@ironman3406 There is a quantity of work that reminds of anecdote about Stanley Kubrick looking at the near annual releases of another elite-level film director and being baffled about the quality of the outputs given the high throughput rate. Likely there is several lifetimes worth of restoration for somebody with the bit between their teeth. I think for the Kubrick-level restorers, such a yard would be overwhelming. Ever seen the final tour video of the IH museum? kzread.info/dash/bejne/lWGc0a1tj9OtfNY.html
