Most the Derechos have a lot of wind well in ahead of the precipitation, this the derecho had rain before the winds even came in. This derecho was in a very humid environment. 2:15 The reason the underside of the cloud was so blue/green is because there was hail embedded in the storm. 5:10 The hail comes in. That’s why the sky was blue/green.

Late reply, but yeah, here in this instance, the wind was more calm than it should have, but that was only my area. Toronto Pearson Airport and Ottawa International Airport recorded Progressive wind increases once the storm approach

The clouds and the color were intimidating, but the storm was anticlimactic. I keep hearing about the chaos and destruction it caused. Yet every video I've watched doesn't even show a small branch breaking off. In the US, if you see a turquoise sky like that, you prepare to go weeks without power.

@@Lo-ky3oc you can say that, but unless you show proof, it means nothing. One thing that set me off was the losing 60% of trees. Which is exactly what Cedar Rapids lost. Seems fishy to me.

Most of the damage was concentrated in the flatter/rural parts of the city such as Barrhaven/Merivale, including Navan, etc. People lost power for almost 2 weeks. It's quite simple that no one has footage when the storm threw all it got in the hardest hit areas which have low population density, especially on a weekend during "rush hour" when people are busy driving instead of being free to record anything they see.

Don't mean to sound like a show off but I fortunately never lost power. I was on this little "power Island" I call it where basically everyone around me in the West End had no power up until at least downtown. There is also that weird same power Island in Kanata North where the technology park had pockets of power but it happened to include an Ultramar gas station, so while the pockets of Nepean that we're having their gas stations looted by everyone and running out of gas and supplies, I had easy access to gas in the West End while most people, even the locals, didn't know about it.

Your attitude and the world's attitude is called SIN, and unless we turn our lives around and admit there IS a God, who created us and loves us, these storms will continue because He is a jealous God and wants no other god to be worshipped!
