OTM REWIND | Bryson DeChambeau on Golf Swing Changes, Scoring Lower and the Search for Greatness

Bryson DeChambeau is a multiple winner on The PGA TOUR, a 2-time US Open champion and one of the leading figures on the global golf stage. He joins us to share his life in golf- from a young golfer in California, to a NCAA Champion and US Amateur Champion in college, to a Major Championship winner.
Among many diverse topics DeChambeau discusses:
His "one-length" golf clubs and how he came upon them, his approach to golf-swing technique from the Homer Kelley "Golfing Machine" one-plane approach, to his theories and discoveries relating to "End of Motion Range" to his latter day search for power and speed, and a day in his life, both at home and at tournaments.

What a frustrating interview, Mark you are lovely, but WHY ON EARTH would you cut off every detailed answer to interject some irrelevant anecdote... Eg. Guy is answering a question listing the 5 key elements of gaining speed and you break it up to tell a story about "Dottie" commenting on his performance at the Colonial... Are you kidding me! No one cares... Grrr so frustrating....

Your nerves would not likely hold up under 72nd hole US Open pressure. Block it all out and stay focused. Sink the putt. Thanks 😊 for cooperation.

Mark is constrained by the time allotted so he had to steer the Q and A. That was understandable, but the summary reflection of what Bryson has done from a professional deep in the weeds filling in what others have said was worth the time to listen. The discipline Bryson has to be open minded and follow through is next level. As Mark said if Bryson attains his goal of wedge accuracy coupled with putting speed, he will be near the holy grail most pros yearn for. It has always been my take that the pros put the time in on the range to maintain that timing and make sure the swing is routine. Fortunately Bryson is young, committed, disciplined, and aware of the impact the fans have on his energy and positivity to win. Golf will no doubt benefit and so will youngsters when they hit their first shot in the sweet spot and get hooked. Thank you.

This is Masters Champion 🏆 Immelman you're talking about. 2 Champions just throwing down. Look it as a conversation occuring in a loud smoky bar. Tbere's gonna be interuptinitua. The upside no cigar smoke filling your grill. Thanks

@@quantumpotential7639 This is the brother of Trevor Immelmann. Therefore this is not the Masters champion. At any rate, this is entirely irrelevant to the issue of his infuriating and rude interruptions.

.. you are overstating it my man. When two people are extremely interested in their conversation that’s what happens. It’s an exploration, not a speech, you were expecting a speech. Go drink some chamomile tea and relax 🫖

Sometimes interruptions are needed to clarify a point, especially with someone as detailed as Bryson. But sometimes interruptions are annoying if the guest is hitting on something profound as Bryson also does.

Influencers are the John D Rockerfellers of our age. Theyre all very brand conscious. Is this good? I dont know but how does listening anyway actually help your short game? It probably requires a bad case of the shanks to overcome the illusion of infusionary influence.

No I didn’t detect that at all, it was an excited conversation between two experts at the cutting edge, it’s not an ordinary interaction so you can’t apply the usual standard.

Hey Saus. Where do you think the cynicism is displayed? He is a selfpromoter, but not more so than many other elite athletes. Jordan. Namath. LeBron. Many race drivers. I think he is very good for golf. Could you elaborate? Thanks.
