Otis Spann - Spann's Blues live in Paris [Colourised] 1964

Музыка

Firstly, big massive thanks to Bob the Juke who kindly sent me a copy of the 3 episodes of Gospel's Song filmed by RTF in Paris back on the 25th July 1964 to colourise!
I don't make anything colourising and putting these videos together so please support the channel with the link here if you can its greatly appreciated! tr.ee/vDvH8nOpUB
'Bob Juke' who has a great channel here: / @bobjuke4216 (it's a must if you're into Blues & Jazz!) contacted me to see if I'd be interested in collaborating with him to upload colorized versions of some of his extensive black and white jazz and blues video collection .... So here they are!
The Gospel's Song episodes were filmed in Paris on the 25th July 2 months after the famous Blues Gospel Train was filmed at Wilbraham Road Station, Manchester. The line up was the same including Otis Spann, Cousin Joe Pleasant, Muddy Waters, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Reverend Blind Gary Davis and Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee.
Otis Spann: Piano
Ransom Knowling: Bass
Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith: Drums
I'll be posting more from these episodes in the coming days/weeks and more from Bob Jukes extensive library.
If any videos get blocked I tend to post them on my other social media platforms, so have a look if you don't want to miss anything! All links are here: linktr.ee/blues.in.colour

Spann was always the man. This is a totally new tune to me I hear him play here.

Interesting to see Random Knowling on bass. I have always associated him with the pre-war Bluebird label sound, so it's nice to see him touring in 1964 - and showing off his jazz technique. He brings out the jazz in Spann here, too.

I’d love to see more of this show man! Especially Muddy, because you can really see him in video in the 60s!
