Hey Folks! Welcome to Ostriv!
Ostriv aims to raise the bar of city-building experience by adding a huge amount of possibilities and removing annoying limitations. It allows for truly organic town layouts without the grid and angle restrictions on a three-dimensional landscape.     Remember that the warehouse is limited to 10,000 units. So, it you are putting 5000 of a given item in one that is half its capacity. You may want to put a well by your lime works for production use only and a couple of benches for people to rest on in that general area.

    The lines on the cart shed, blue shows where the carts are. If you have show workers checked orange is the workers, or the worker you are hovering the mouse over if that box is not checked.

    Here some game mechanics help: 1) cartshed % fullness. Working only for building supplies and regulars delivery. Will take work only if cart will be loaded for % of cargo. Will bring fireworks to pile but ignore 100 salt to warehouse. Max capacity is about 4x of hand delivery like 1000 wood or 200 shoes. Wagon max capacity 3x of carts. 2) builders bring materials to first 2 projects in queue same as cartshed. 3)forester will chop trees in order queue building projects however will work only nearest. However if 2 nearest projects where one will be near one forestry and second near other forestry maybe they will work both for example (clay pit and benches) 4)when i have regular sales like salt or cloth. I bring materials to traider for example 2000 of salt and then look at storage in town for example only 600 left and sell only 500 of 2000 so no need to put temporary stock every time. 5) hemp gives more than flax about +50%. Yes flax gives you seeds but too low quantity so you need buckwheat anyway for chikens.

    @@LameVideoDad I believe so. Both crops make 'textile' and there is no indication that one is weighted more than the other.

    @@LameVideoDad yes both hemp and flax 25-> 10 textile-> 10 cloth 1 hemp field 50x50 gives 540 cloth per year 1 cowshed gives 600 leather into 1200 shoes per year 1 sheepyard gives 500 warm clothes per year

    The stone mining camp can keep 10 000 each of limestone and stone. No need to build a storage for it

    Yet we're going to build 'all the things' anyway. 😉 And the quicklime process requires 15k limestone. The stone camp only holds 10k.

    I set the min. fullness for the cart shed to 20-25%, so loads of 200-250 and above will be worked on

    Regarding that trial of the trader. If it were me then I'd go to where your salt is stored and move by cart to the trader thus forcing 1000 at a time for each cart. You had 3 carters not doing anything when you rolled over it.

    We've made several trades now with this new method and letting the system figure it out on its own hasn't failed yet. We have a lot of redundant systems in place now to move things around the map.

    This game seems like a ton of fun and I've really enjoyed the series! I appreciate you taking it slow and really letting the game breathe. It's very calming to watch and you have a great voice! keep up the good work! I was wondering something about the bridges though. Won't they block river traders from making it to the dock?

    Thanks for the kind words! The bridges are set up with no collision, so boats 'magically' pass through (I wish there was another way). The Smeltery for processing iron however sets up a stone barrier across the entire river, so that one needs to be planned carefully. Thanks for watching.

    If you destroy all the resources in your Forestry they will take marked trees after trees that are on building sites. But they will not go over the limit in the Forestry (18).

    The game is called Ostriv but I believe the town needs its own name. I suggest " Rambling Rver"

    Interesting name, though with the nature and dialect of all of the other town's names I think it best we leave this one blank. A trendy or current name might break the immersion of the old world ambiance of the game.

    Great solution! Maybe the 2nd forestry isn’t working now because they are only to collect 2 logs? Vs the other one is set for the full 18?

    That's possible, though I'm not sure how that limit comes into play since any number set will be less than the pile they should have after clearing random building sites. The other Forestry has almost 300 logs piled up now. We'll try it though. Maybe setting to 18 gives permission to go beyond...

    Instead of benches could you place a stone path? Would make straightness easier. Make it a lower priority, but the highest priority building that needs tree removal. Just remember to delete it before it's actually built

    Did that in front of the school many episodes ago, and no I didn't get there to delete it in time (they preload the stone then start immediately when the tree comes down. No, it needs to be an item that insta-builds and insta-deletes...like a bench.

    the lines in the trader map changed colour, the ones you dont get traders from are a diff colour to the ones you always get, not sure if you noticed :) no idea if its relevant or not

    One group of cities trades by land, the other by water. I'm pretty sure that explains the color difference. The frequency seems to be entirely random, so I'm hoping that explains the rarity of the river traders.
