WOW MD on left with red tie--I like him because he is NOT reading his notes AND knows his medical data! Versus the 2 end MDs(?) are reading to me. As 79 years old male I was dumb to climb 20ft ladder and use a heavy electric chainsaw to cut off a branch! Don't anyone else do that! Use a handsaw!!! Any how now I have pain in right ankle, knee, hip, and shoulder!!!! Actually Dr. Philip Bobrow gave me painless shots in my knee and shoulder--yeah!!! Pain in shoulder is gone, but in my right knee it is constant jabbing pain! Tomorrow I will be seeing Dr. Bobrow and I'm hoping not just pain killers will help me!!! Medical professionals THANKS very much for taking the time to make KZread videos to educate me and others!!!!! My fav quote= "that which is essential to the heart is invisible to the eye" LITTLE PRINCE

I have a course of 5-6 HA injections twice a year for the past 5 years. Usually 2 weeks apart between shots. Here in Japan HA injections are covered by regular public health insurance. I can ski and ride a bicycle about 3 -4,000 km a year, with stage 4 osteoarthritis. At this stage I don't consider knee joint replacement. I also tried some supplements but didn't notice any significant improvements.

Wet and dry arthritis??? These consultants probably don't suffer themselves from Osteoarthritis, yet. But as sufferer the best thing for me that has actually worked, (reducing the aggravation and pain), is sitting on a table with heavy ankle weights and gently swinging your legs for three minutes three times a day. You have to do it religiously but it works almost immediately.

@Kevin B It's not an weight exercise, you are using the weight to pull the joint apart so as to alleviate the fact that in parts of the joint its now bone on bone.

I started to get grinding and popping from decades of heavy weight lifting. I have had the shots early this year and i moved easier after. I feel like keeping up on these shots will slow my natural damaging of the knee over time. Starting in my late 30s, will continue and see

I have has two HA injections into the hip with great success as I wait for a replacement. Both times I got about 3 months of significant relief. The night of the injection is horrible as the pain is unescapable. Make sure to take an advil to help with that.

I got these injections 3 months Ago Im still with a lot of pain I heard that if the Dr misses the right spot for these inyecciones most likely they won’t work. I was told that if I what to do it again I can but must have to be done with a Dr that uses sonography technology to make sure that he doesn’t miss the right spot where the inyección is need it so far still with a lot of pain😰

Patricia Villareal Hello there ...i just got one of these injections ...my left knee is great but my right has been swollen & in a lot of pain . It’s been 3 weeks . I even got a cortisone injection in it but it helped for just a week & the swelling & pain came back . Is there anything the doctor did for you ? Are you any better ? I’m curious as i can’t walk & don’t know whats going to make it better . I think the PA injected in the wrong spot :-(

Patricia: Have you ever tried DMSO with Hyaluronic Acid on the skin by yourself? You don't need a doctor to do the job. Father of DMSO, Dr Stanley Jacob's (MD, surgeon) site shows you details of DMSO. You can find DMSO on amazon. herbalmana.com/blogs/herbal-mana-blog/how-to-apply-dmso-topically. I have nothing to do with the site but for a reference.

These injections should be done under ultrasound to get into the joint. You can’t do this by feel. You need a trained specialist doing these injections on you. If the doctor doesn’t do it this way, find another.

3rd pair of gel shots...most excruciating pain ever felt when a different PA did the injections. i wonder if he had never done it before. certainly didnt go into the joint where it should have, but back of knees got so stiff and painful. been a week and stiffness better but no good change in the knee joint. insurance wont allow for 6 more months.

@@nainamehra5347 i did lots of exercises, especially ones that worked the back of knees. a really good one is to stand holding onto chair back and gently lift heel up toward butt, hold, then ease foot back to floor. LOTS of this exercise. the gel shot medicine hardens up inside wherever it ends up, so i had to work it. took about 3 weeks til it was better. i want to put off replacement as long as possible, so strengthening exercises are key. ask your dr to send you for physical therapy on knees, then ask the phys therapist for exercises you can continue at home.

s andy oh wow ...so the Doc. Couldn’t do anything to help ease the placement of the gel . I’m so upset & angry with the PA for not doing an ultra sound guided procedure . Now i’m stuck with this inconvenience. Thank you so much for your suggestions . I’ve been so frustrated & my RA doc keeps giving me prednisone but its not helping . So if it didn’t go in the joint does that mean you need another dose for it to help ?

@@nainamehra5347 my insurance only pays for gel shots after 6months, so it's up to me. i've had gel shots twice prior and none did like this. i believe the person giving these was inexperienced. i've had cortizone shots prior to any gel, but that did nothing, thats why moved to gel, which has been good for me. i asked why he wasnt using ultrasound, he said it was too expensive for the office. really??? that dr wont get another visit from me for ANY reason. i've been to physical therapy for various joints and they taught me numerous gentle strengthing exercises which i still do on my own. PT was the best thing ever suggested to me.

s andy Thank you so much for chatting with me ...it’s such a relief to know someone has been in my position. I put a call into the PA today lets see what she has to say . PT sounds great but right now i’m self isolating so it’s not an option for me . I did the exercise you told me to do & i have a little more pain today . I’m going to try massaging it . This all has got me so furious from the incompetence . I had them done 2 yrs. ago under ultra sound & had zero issues . My quality of life has gone down the tubes. Take care & stay healthy
