OSHO: There Is No Goal

"My whole life I have been telling you there is no goal! Life is its own goal. There is nothing outside life that you have to achieve. All achievement is the projection of the ego. The very idea of achievement is ambition. What you achieve does not matter -- money, power, knowledge; these are not in any way going to give you life. In fact, in achieving power, in achieving money, in achieving prestige, in achieving any other ambition, you are losing your life, you are sacrificing your life." Osho

The video has an idea that is worthy of being always there for us. People mix up how they use time to how they should use their time, and start painting goals. Stop, and take a moment and focus on what ever you wish... I think there are better words for this, but this video works as a base that should be taught as the very first thing to people. In some sense it also says that you can't fail, but then it misses the message what one gets when they aim to just live, which is caring for themselves, and caring for their own heart.

That's not the attitude either, you have to be very alert, because your mind misinterpret everything according to your unconscious. When Osho says there is nowhere to go he means that life should be lived as a celebration, but if you just sit and do nothing your energy is going to get stucked, show some creativity man! Even Osho used to design things and write poems and stuff..!

In the end what makes us happy is to feel loved, appreciated and needed and do good to other people .. because thats always the best feeling you can get, knowing that maybe you made someone else’s day a lil bit better. What Osho saying is absolutely true. We humans have a short life span even though people deceived it as we are forever in this physical form. Only certain thing in the life is death. All other things are temporary, perishable & uncertain. However 99.99...% humans work restlessly in the rat race to achieve goal after goal, materials after materials thinking it will give them happiness & joy. But ultimately at old ages or at the death bed we will realize that any goal, any materialist possessions have given us nothing, but only living in the present moment totally will give us happiness & joy; which we have missed miserably throughout our lives!!!! All our lives we have been just running here & there, but forgot to live and enjoy the moments of the journey slowly & peacefully.

I know a guy who spent countless years on a startup. He sacrificed everything to bring it to fruition. He had multiple opportunities to settle down with a wife in rural India and be a happy villager. Anyways, by the time he was 37 he finally got funding and the startup took off. He became very wealthy by 43. But at 43 he felt very empty because 23 years of fun have already past by. 20 of the best years have already past. As humans, we make life so difficult. We need to strive to be equal to animals. If you give 100000000 rupees to a monkey or a chimpanzee they would probably tear it up, and throw it in the bush somewhere. This is a sign that money means nothing. It's just paper.

All achievement is the projection of the ego. The very idea of achievement is ambition. What you achieve does not matter -- money, power, knowledge; these are not in any way going to give you life. In fact, in achieving power, in achieving money, in achieving prestige, in achieving any other ambition, you are losing your life, you are sacrificing your life."

Not laughing at people who really have to work their hands bloody and their minds blank to live, but the moment I inherited enough wealth to sustain myself and stopped working for others I realized that there is enough to be done outside of "work for money" and I don't mean having fun all the time. Many things I avoided to do because I was too busy with work or just to tired to be concerned with. Now I am happy to have done those things and it really gave me peace of mind: For example a long overdue rennovation of my home, private issues i wanted to finally be concluded, take better care of my personal health etc. Many people actually escape into their work to avoid family or other uncomfortable situations. They get out of it because they can excuse their absence with work. Also I think many ambitious people don't realize the reason for their drive to succeed is that they lacked something in their life and want to compensate for it. Does not apply to all of course but I think there are many out there who, when given time to contemplate will realize that there is actually an unfulfilled need which they subconsciously try to compensate. What I take away from this video is: Live the moment. Life itself is challenging enough without you yourself making it harder.

life is the force that comes with every breath, not what we do in between birth and death. Without that breath we are no more, and in that breath is everything that gives us life.
