OSHO: Mahatma Gandhi's Poverty Is Very Costly

"If somebody is sick, that does not mean that the doctor should come and lie down on another bed, so as to help the sick. Everybody can see the nonsense in it. The doctor has to remain healthy so that he can help those who are sick. If he himself becomes sick out of sympathy, then who is going to help? The same is true in the inner growth of man." - Osho

Analogy of Poor and ill is illogical. Gandhiji embraced minimal lifestyle to connect to the masses of India who thought of themselves as helpless or powerless. He filled those with the energy of self awareness and taught them their contribution in nation buliding. He made them realised how important they are for their country rather than being mere helpless farmers. All of this unified India irrespective of their religion into one opposing front against Britishers. So plz before making these absurd analogies first understand the greatness of Mahatma Gandhi.

Reversing worn out philosophies is a noble thing. Tearing a man down is building a glass house for youself. Ghandi was getting revenue, Osho was getting revenue, and that money could be used as they dictated. Ghandi used it to make himself a political symbol to tackle an ignorant, bullying giant, but dedication such as focusing on caring for your goat doesn't make one a hipocrit. The goat could have been ignored and instead had modern conveniences for Ghandi himself in his house. The care of the goat, in my view, speaks to his Hindu roots, where all beings are reincarnated. For all he knew, he was spoiling an old friend. I agree 100% with Osho debunking these myths of constant self sacrifice, I feel focusing in on Ghandi's life was to add humor and flavor but is ill aimed.

One should not be misunderstood for his simplicity, Few men have the courage to accept his mistakes and declare them publically. He is the man of goodness though he is not perfect. Instead of defaming him, we should learn the noble teaching. He is a great innovator. He advocated the progress of science the benefit the world.

I try to be impartial but these 2 are not comparable and Gandhi sacrificed things to benefit people in the long run and succeeded. Context and critical thinkkng shoud be considered even though they seem boring in comparison to "uuuuuh BUURN!"😂😂

Osho is right that to live like a poor simply to show 'brotherhood' with poor people, is more of hypocrisy than being of any help to the poor. The same tactics are followed by politicians.

I live in India. Here,Mahatma Gandhi's once follower helped him to stay in his poor house when he was travelling. The poor men has land worth 150 Cr in a city only, his all generations live in USA,mate one of his granddaughter recently who was wearing 50k jogging shoes and driver was driving along with her to give her security in a Mercedes. That house is state recognised property and the family is earning crores in a year from it.They make it a boys hostel there, killing 1 boy by falling 100 years old ceiling upon him. That family owns a super speciality hospital,Mall,Cafe centres and 2 most iconic ponds with 200+ flamingoes in it along side a Benchmark temple. His car collection is so big that his garrage is bigger than our hostel.Still he is refered as poor by our media/writers.His house has 4 security guards,Cinema hall, swiming pool, karoke stage, everything u find in multi millioners house. But he is poor😂😂😂
