OSHO: The Value of Religious Teachings

In this interview, Osho makes it crystal clear that beautiful words are often used to hide very ugly realities.
Q: But haven’t there been some teachings handed down from Jesus which form the basis of much that is good in civilization today?
"Nothing. Not a single thing has come out of Jesus which has helped humanity in any way. All those teachings have proved not blessings, but curses. They are beautiful words and because they have been repeated so often, you have - and everybody has - forgotten the implications of them.He says, “Blessed are the poor, for theirs is the kingdom of God.” It looks beautiful, but basically it is ugly. It is a consolation to the poor."

I live near the old compound of OSHO in Oregon. I was not alive when it was there. It is now a Christian summer camp. All the roses have been mowed down, and crosses put up. There are 15 churches in the small town nearby, with no jobs or very low wage jobs and long lines at the food banks. The food is rotten. No allowance for the homeless by city code, they are arrested. The poverty is staggering and beyond words and there are more churches per capita than anywhere in the world. Perhaps 150 churches around the river area. The Jews can have settlements, but the poor must remain on the streets in the cold and suffer and die. They say they love Jesus. The Government has stolen land and no homesteads can be built on the land. As far as the eye can see, empty land. Not even a bird on it. They own it. Man is a slave, all ethnicities and you look around and see churches scattered about. I put this here to tell you OSHO was right. That a strange coincidence and microcosm of this speech has come home to roost on his behalf in the area he once tried to build his commune near. They even still call him a terrorist in the local paper, yet they arrest homeless veterans for being homeless and silence them in the city council meetings all under the banner of "In God We Trust". Despicable hypocrites. Thats why I put this long story here.

Dam! Whether people like it or not look around it's the truth. I been at church. They suck up to goverment money given to them if they stay out of politics. Why? Cause they have been castrated. They are to be silent in lies spewed to the public and not be in the service of truth. They feed lies of a yaunder year that is no more as people are blinded about what is in front of them. The life they have now and how free they should live it. Cause our time here is very little and it can end at any moment. People are stuck in suffering and the physical life is an expression of the inner. Our society shows us the inner mindset of those who have created it. It's rotten to the core no honor. It's a fasad. Sad but true! Stupidity masquerading as intelligence but devoid of wisdom.

He was an courage, wise, enlightenment man. He was too much ahead of this world. Government scare of him, his thoughts, and poisoned him. We, everyone of us will learn his teachings and spread it. He is in our hearts. I started to listen him this week and surprised me a lot.

Hi Zé Holanda Jr Thank you for your message. Subtitling of any OSHO Talk is taken care of by volunteers from around the globe, by joining us in the effort to make Osho’s word available to as many people as possible. Unfortunately for you, this title hasn't been translated into Portuguese yet, so we would like to ask you to have a little patience and check sometime later again. I'm sorry or not having any better news for you today.Perhaps you would know someone, who would like to register and join the Osho Video Translation Project as avolunteer on www.OSHOTALKS.com, so that soon your language would be also covered. Lots of love Neerjo

The technique osho gave of constantly be a witness is a upanishadic(vedantic) philosophy. Osho in many hindi discourses said that only upanishads are the texts which I value the most and give highest regard.

Ohhhhh!!!!! It takes real courage to say the real things. Stupid religious philosophy has been making a mankind so pathetic, and for centuries..Ohhhhh it's time to come out of irrational teachings. It's a way to live a good life with all kinds of richness.

When 30+ years ago I heard about him, society and media portrayed him as a cult leader and a sharlatan. That he enjoyed group sex and promoted drugs. (He regretted juxtaposing anger and frustration on others by allowing his followers to do so among them) Also he poisoned people with salmonella. I have wisened up after all these years, and now know what a genius he was, and what an asset needed badly today. Blessings that we have his videos.
