Oshkosh EAA AirVenture 2023 Arrivals Saturday, July 22, 2023 - Storm Break

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

EAA AirVenture 2023 doesn’t start officially until Monday, 24 July 2023, but a steady stream of inbound aircraft of many types could be seen on Saturday 22 July at Wittman Field in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A summer storm marched across the field in the early afternoon, drenching aircraft and pausing arrivals until it passed.
If you’ve followed the Airailimages Channel, you know we like engine sounds as much as you do, and we will use ambient audio whenever possible. But for newcomers to our channel, please be aware that sometimes ambient audio is not usable for a variety of reasons, ranging from the presence of commercial music on the loudspeaker system (which we must mute), to the use of slo-mo. That’s when we cue the music, and do whatever it takes. Sit back and enjoy…
And please give this video a Thumbs Up to help it grow in views. We appreciate it. We’ll be here all week making news videos - subscribe and never miss out.
This video is part of the Airailimages Airshow America collection.

    N749AW I'm really sick of the brainless use of the word "insane." It's become meaningless, like the rest of social media insanity :-). This one got my attention too. Turns out it's a one-off. @@BrookTroutman I agree. It says there are four seats in this aircraft. To me it looks like two place and more comfortable with just one. **************************** A few days later I've come across a video taken at Osh which covers the plane in depth. With the designer and builder. Turns out this plane DOES have four seats. What a really well done design for comfortable bush flying!!

    Quick Question for my fellow Airshow enthusiasts: I always see these cool arrival videos of F22s for example arriving to an Airshow and giving onlookers a mini Airshow b4 the actual show… most Airshows begin on Fridays and go through Sundays… So when would be the best time to show up and catch some awesome ARRIVALS?? Do most of them occur the Thursdays before Airshows or is it unpredictable and one just has to get lucky and wait the entire week prior to the show to catch awesome arrivals? Like how do y’all camera people be knowing when to be out there???😅😩 TY

  • @airailimages

    It varies. From experience, we know that the Saturday and Sunday before Oshkosh officially begins on Monday are good times to get arrivals, because the event is so huge. But some of the military jets arrive mid-week at Oshkosh and beat up the field before landing. For traditional two-day (Saturday Sunday) air shows, I try to get there on Friday for arrivals if I can. Sometimes I win, sometimes not. I realize that is not a very satisfying answer. I wish you well in your efforts.

    What is the green light on the runway? Is it some type of threshold indicator?

  • @airailimages

    @airailimages

    10 ай бұрын

    A variety of colored circles are placed on the runways during AirVenture arrivals, and the tower controllers will tell a pilot "land on the green dot" or "land on the yellow dot" to help with spacing and rapid movement of planes.

    If you’re accepting votes, I prefer the sound of props, jets, and ATC comms over random guitar sounds. The growl of radial engines, the chirp of still tires contacting the runway, and the flow of instructions and “Welcome to the show” is music to my ears. Great videography though!
