I think people were bummed because Saving Private Ryan didn't win for Best Picture when it obviously should have. Instead Shakespeare in Love, by no less than that human trash known as Harvey Weinstein, won. She starred in it, so people as early as then started hating her by association.

I kept waiting for the THREE word speech after Pesci’s speech. Maybe they didn’t count “Thank you” as a part of the speech? But what kind of acceptance speech doesn’t have a “thank you” in it? Even Hitchcock’s speech had those TWO words.

In all fairness to Seth, the women shown during the “boobies” song were all completely aware, and I think the part was even taped before the show. So Seth wasn’t ‘t insulting anyone - they were in on the joke!

You'd know that though with just some simple fact checking 😉 Also Patty Duke is considered by The Academy to have given the shortest speech by just saying "thank you", and then walking off the stage. Similarly to Hitchcock- but his is a non competitive award.
