About On Cinema:
On Cinema is Adult Swim's finest authority on film, comparable to the great French film magazines in both content and depth. Host Tim Heidecker (of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!) and recurring guest Gregg Turkington illuminate which of the latest films are must-see's, which are unofficial sequels to unrelated films, and which aren't worth your time on a scale of one-to-five bags of popcorn. The coveted five bags of popcorn might not be given out easily, but that's kind of the point. See every episode of this enriching talk show now at AdultSwim.com.

it's amazing how Tim is able to seemlessly incorporate his political views into his songwriting. Bob Dylan should be taking notes

Um...didn't Bod Dylan do it first? If anything, Tim is kinda being a bit cringe trying to be a hip hard rock group with his fashion sense. He looks good, but it's pretentious.

The way Tim sings "I'm relevant!" with such confidence despite the fact it's not even the title of the movie is fucking brilliant.

That’s kind of the point of the on cinema universe and Tim’s comedy as a whole. That our shared culture is just a shallow marketing ploy at almost every level, and the same reaction is to point at it and laugh.

I like how Tim still found a way to cram his soapbox into half the song.

The mad Max bit and intro riff have been stuck in my head for ages now, love it
I watched the whole damn thing, this is like stairway to heaven! What a great song, Tim! Though I do wish there was a bass solo
I hope he expands on the melody he teases us with before the song: "This movie i's aBOUt this!"
MARTIAN Dekkar Released [2016] 1. Intro -- (0m30s) 1. "SPOTLIGHT, I'm under the light of a" -- (2m53s) 2. "I'm RELEVANT" -- (3m32s) 3. "I'm Standin' on the BRIDGE OF SPIES" -- (3m02s) 4. "MAD MAX, giving all the ladies heart attacks!" -- (3m43s) 5. "I need ROOM" -- (2m20s) 6. "I'm Livin' in BROOKLYN" -- (1m47s) 7. "BIG SHORT" -- (1m36s) 8. "MARTIAN" -- (4m20s) 9. Outro -- (0m30s)
Dekkar should win the Oscar for best OST.
7:04 omg that ending "whats coming down the well is not what anybody wants"
Lol i used to have friends that would just sit there patiently waiting for me and my other friends to stop jamming
“It’s not a literal, sort of 🎵 This song is about-this movie is about this🎵”
His face and head-wiggle at 4:34 makes me laugh every time
The bass slaps around 4:50 -5:10 are deadly
I Believe There's a Martian is a genuinely great song. We need a proper release!

🔥🎸I BELIEVE THERE’S A MARTIAN SITTING ON TOP OF THE WORLD 🎸🔥
The owners of my barber shop hired a rock band to play music on a small stage in the shop once. They were trying to create a cool atmosphere or something, but it was a lot like this video.

***** Dekkar's sound is unique and visionary. Those who can't keep up with the future will not like it.
About to record vocals and I needed to gain inspiration from this monstrous piece by the undeniable future Grammy winners, DEKKAR!!
The breadth and depth of Tim's genius is dawning on me and it is a breathtakingly brilliant thing
“That’s enough fog, thank you.”
The intensity of Tim's bass playing skills really brings out the gleam of his shiny sweaty face
God we need this now more than ever.
This song makes me feel better about things. It's like everything I'm going through right now.

I've had the mad max portion stuck in my head for well over a week now.
a great song. ROOM!!!
I just heard this on spotify- I can't believe this already has a billion views!
this is unironically good
i cant believe i watched this video the whole way through
Gregg-heads might be opposed to hearing this: but I had a real Amato moment playing this through the new sound system of my BMW330i I just bought when I left the lot. They liked my good credit, but they were astounded at my HEI points. Personally just wish TCH and Matt were still around to see the growth we’ve come across.
Aye beeleeeeve....
🤣🤣Fucking brilliant. Just say “Dekkar” and I’m already laughing.
Touching tribute to Lemmy with your bass tone and vocal delivery during the intro.
Relevant, that’s my middle name I’m relevant, changing the game!
This is the most oscar relevant I think any part of their shows have been lol
Whenever something goes against my will I think of Greg's face at 1:58 and suddenly I am feeling better
Now this FUCKING BRINGS ME BACK to when Dekkar couldn’t not be fucked with.
i keep watching this everyday. the martian song has been carved into my dopamine receptors
I’m really proud of it
Guess I'm gonna watch this again
Bring back Billys crystals

The Martian bit of the medley reminds me of “Moonmen” as sung by Jemaine Clement in Rick & Morty. Both incredibly reminiscent of Bowie.

This is unfortunate timing to showcase Dekkar, with the Oscars coming after the Grammy's. Perhaps they can swap them around, next year.
