Amusing to watch these old commercials, realizing that the people who voiced these kids are now seniors. How time passes so quickly.
I've been singing this jingle since I was a little kid, I'm over 60 years old now and still have it memorized!

I half-expected him to get kneecapped over his version of the song.
If you were at any wedding reception which opted to sing a song with the word "love" in it in lieu of clinking glasses, I GUARANTEE YOU at least one table chose this.
My grandfather used to sing this all the time. He was a funny man.
This commercial is pure genius. A milestone in TV ads.
Ahh 50s… A time when you could say "I love wieners." with out getting made fun of.

One of my favorite memories is from when i was a kid and my mom would sing this song to me. Back then i didn't even know where it was from.
I'll never forget when my teacher said I looked like the blonde little girl with that ponytail. Man, I miss ya Ms. Peterson

The story of an independently thinking mind being bullied into uniformity and American consumerism. Quite a good piece of social commentary if you ask me.

One of the best! We knew these kids (same age) and hung out when my dad would play banjo as back up while their dad was writing the jingle and practicing. Great memories.

Started around maybe 2015 or 16 for me. But some people way back have gone through this. Just more common today.

@@fluidefluide1128 Biologically there is nothing that special about those body parts in terms of eating them. It's all just the same proteins and fats in different proportions. In fact, the tongues are considered delicacies in many places and ordered specifically.

I was 8 years old when this came out. I remember getting the wiener whistle with a package of franks at the Piggly Wigglys.
I remember this commercial very well - epsecially when the two kids show up looing rather displeased with the [gasp] non-conformist kid...

"mildy seasoned" yeah, they're mildy seasoned with about three pounds of salt.
I love the kid with the hair covering his eyes. That was definitely me back in '65 at 8 years old... great commercial. People used to always ask me... how can you see with all that hair...? It's all gone now... ;) Never realized it was in color . We only had a black and white TV back in '65.
This is sincerly stuck in my head. Great advertisment for sure, does its job. Now to get it out of my head..
