Oscar de la Hoya Teaches You How to Box | TIME

Спорт

To glean more boxing insights, TIME visited De La Hoya--who, at 35, is still the most popular fighter in the world--in Big Bear Lake, Calif., where he was preparing for his Dec. 6 pay-per-view bout with Manny Pacquiao, the top-ranked pound-for-pound boxer on the planet.
What's the best part of being a fighter? "When you're in that ring, you can float," De La Hoya says. "You can move around on your toes and feel invincible." Worst part? "The diet," says the welterweight (147 lb. max) who follows a strict organic regimen. "It's horrible."

No matter what happened in the fight itself, we all can agree that Oscar was brave enough to face Manny at that time when Manny was rampaging and definitely in his prime.

The guy was a journalist. :) Not a fighter. Maybe one that never stepped in a gym. Doesn't mean he couldn't become a fighter. Doesn't mean he doesn't have it. You could turn some one who never played sports into a boxer. If he wants it bad enough. But at the same time every one has their talent. Maybe he isn't coodinasted. who knows. Add there's being in the ring with a world champion. Intimidating for any one. And 2 name champions at that time. Put Oscar and Bernard in his "arena"...so who's "coordinated" there...heh... There's aonly handful that make it as elite boxers. World champions. rest get brain damage. Worse than the pro's.

I like the way that Oscar breaks things down and explains things...I get why he doesn't like to lift weights. Boxing is all about the core, the power comes from the mid sections, hips and thighs...it is literally a whole body workout and probably one of the toughest sports one could do..

The way he explained the hints and tips of his boxing is very psychological. I totally understand how he is such a winner. Psychological he had so much patience and understanding how to box and over more simply WIN a fight. He's such a technical fighter very smart. It's all in the mind how to read the opponents mind or even his moves. Psychological vs. Boxing if you will. Very smart, in fact clever. Despite myself being a native of East Los Angeles, Oscar is a true champion. Great boxer

If you are on gear you don’t become a smarter boxer with amazing footwork. Manny never failed a drug test and called Mayweathers bluff and said he’d release his test results if Floyd did and he never did it. Once your off juice you get smaller last time I checked manny was still 147 pounds. When you turn pro at 17 your body grows. If you think Manny was juiced you are stupid and a waste of time.

Your stupid to think that a pro wont use any product to give them a extra lift in their profession. This is their life. They have to feed their families. They have to stay on top....Why wouldn't he use. Its possible. Fighters get caught sometimes because their constantly using some kind of so called natural supplement. Their all using legal supplements. Im sure a lot of those supplements contain some form of steroid without them knowing. If you think their just working with water and veggies, then your the stupid one

Hi, Kim. Thanks for being a cool leader. The rest of them are not. Their campuses are criminally foreign influenced since semi-ancient times, and to keep all blaming, and valuing having been blamed, and stayed blamed, the real causes of negative value nature progressions, acts, and natures blamed on other causes, and/or on others, and even on selves. The criminal foreign influences were/are maintained through modern nations as awes, too, per how it was/is juxtaposed with/as areas/states in collusion, all victim predators with markets's positions, as value nature systems all other than the one that causes evolution's positive value nature progressions, acts, and natuers.
