OSAKA Travel Guide | Top 25 Things to Do in Osaka, Japan for Visitors 🇯🇵

In our Osaka travel guide, we are sharing 25 things to do in Osaka, Japan for visitors excited to explore this dynamic Japanese city! Affectionately known as Japan’s Kitchen, Osaka was the first stop of our trip to Japan and a wonderful place to eat! We dove straight into the local cuisine visiting markets, street food stalls, and restaurants that required ordering from ticket vending machines.
But our trip to Osaka (大阪市) wasn’t all food. In between all the eating, we also managed to visit towering skyscrapers, hidden temples, and retro gaming arcades - all of them complete surprises.
So if you’re curious about what there is to see and do in this city, stick around and let us show you 25 things to do in Osaka, Japan!

Transportation in Osaka, Japan:
Now a quick note on transportation in Osaka (大阪市). When it comes to getting around the city, subways and trains are your best bet.
We spent our first few days buying one-way tickets and day passes, which in retrospect was a bit of a headache. The easiest thing to do is to get a prepaid card where you can load money as needed.
Osaka’s version of this card is called Icoca, but you can also use Pasmo and Suica in the city.
And that’s a wrap for our Osaka travel guide. We hope you found this video helpful and that it gave you some ideas of things to do in Osaka on your own trip.
If you have any other suggestion of things to do in Osaka that you think we missed on this visit, feel free to share your suggestions with fellow travellers in the comments below.

Good job showing (without explicitly stating) how easy it is to move and do things in Osaka. Osaka is a great jumping off point for day trips to the entire region including Kyoto and Kobe. If the timing of your trip is in line with festivals I would suggest going to some in the smaller towns to get a taste of the regular Japanese neighborhood vibe. Fun to see the Japanese with a few beers in them hoisting their neighborhood's portable shrines on their collective shoulders and run them through the streets. People watchers/street photographers will enjoy this as much as those looking to soak up the Japanese aesthetics and eat festival food.

  • @samuelandaudrey

You guys tell a great story and although others have already commented on this, I wanted to underscore that the camera work, B roll, video / audio / music editing in these videos are fantastic quality. Hopefully someday you’ll consider taking us behind the scene and showing us how you produce your videos from start to finish. Or if you’ve already done one of these maybe you can refer me to this video. Keep up the great 👍 Japan series videos.

Thanks so much for this! I'll be in Osaka this summer for a few days and your video is super helpful. I've watched a couple travel videos about Osaka already and they all introduced the same places and things to do over and over?! You guys included some places I hadn't heard of before! Also really great job with the editing, love the background music. What songs did you use?

The best travel vlogs I’ve seen on japan so far!! Heading over in June next year and you guys have given me so many places I can’t wait to see! I love how you have prices for everything and I especially love the food clips! 😍 One question I did have was, is it easy enough to find your way around and communicate with limited Japanese? The one thing I’m a little nervous about! Keep up the great vlogs! xx

Thank you! So glad you found this video helpful. In regards to finding our way around, we just used GoogleMaps for everything and had things pre-plotted, and for communication, we downloaded the GoogleTranslate app so that we could use the camera function to translate menus, signs, and food labels.

Great video. Me and my girlfriend were in Osaka a couple of weeks and also had a great time. Would suggest visiting an area near Osaka/Umeda stations called Nakazakicho, which has lots of cool cafes, vintage clothes stores and restaurants, its basically the “zakka” (hipster) area of Osaka. Also recommend a day hike at Minoo Park to see Minoo Falls, which is suppose to be very beautiful during peak fall colours.
