OSAKA - FOODIE CAPITAL OF JAPAN !!! 🇯🇵🍣🥟❤️ Does It Live Up To The Hype? | 197 Countries, 3 Kids

Hi guys! Today we are taking you to Osaka, the street food capital of Japan.
While in Osaka, we stayed at another Mimaru Hotel, which was a bit different from the one in Tokyo. Our large apartment came with a bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom, and a convertible living space - plenty of room for us to be comfortable during our stay. For more information, visit 👉 mimaruhotels.com/
Whenever we visit a new city, we love going on a walking tour to get to know the place better, and that's exactly what we did in Osaka. Our tour guide was fantastic, giving us loads of info about the city.
Our first stop was Kuromon Ichiba, also known as the Black Gate Market. We saw everything from food and spices to shoes and clothing. The highlight? Seeing the puffer fish, which requires a special license to prepare due to its toxicity.
Next, we wandered into Nipponbashi, the popular Maid Cafe Street, where waitresses and hostesses are dressed as maids. It was a unique and fun experience!
For lunch, we hit up a Kaiten-Zushi restaurant (Rotating Sushi), where we enjoyed a contactless way to order and receive our food. It was not only delicious but also a lot of fun.
We also love visiting local stores whenever we travel. This time, we checked out a big chain store called Don Quijote, similar to Walmart, and then a few department stores. Rainy days are perfect for shopping, so we spent some time exploring both local and international brands around Osaka's busiest shopping spots.
In just a short time, we got a great feel for Osaka, and we couldn't help but compare it to Tokyo. Honestly, I think we might prefer Osaka after all. Have you been to Japan? What’s your favorite city?
As we mentioned, Osaka is famous for its street food, so we dedicated an entire evening to trying all sorts of delicious street eats. We even waited an hour for sushi, but it was totally worth it. Every bite was amazing.
Stay tuned for our next video from Kyoto, where we meet a Geisha! Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe to follow our adventures! Have you tried Osaka's street food or visited any of these spots? Let us know in the comments below! 🌍✨

Thank you for introducing Osaka 😊 Osaka is the second largest city in Japan and one of the best gourmet towns in Japan. It is also a place related to SHOGUN, which was shown on Disney Plus. As you say, Kyoto is definitely a more historic city.

18:40 It is not for security reasons, that's just a myth. The real reason Japan cities don't have trash cans is because they fill up very very quickly when you have so many people. This requires big expenses and a lot of manpower to keep keep emptying them. So, Japan being like it is decided in general the best solution was to force people to be aware of their trash by carrying it around with them. In a lot of respects this has worked very well and keeps the streets far cleaner than many other cities around the world.

15:00 Pachinko is actually a casino. The games are arcade style, but they reward small metal balls (like arcade tokens). In Japan casinos are illegal (all gambling is). So the Pachinko is a loophole around this... they take the balls outside to a different building and that building will "buy" them from them... in essence paying out for their wins.

Pachislot has evolved greatly and now has a chassis with a presentation not unlike that of a video game. However, the original gameplay itself has not changed; it is like a Japanese version of a slot machine. No matter how fancy it gets, in the end, betting money is what gamblers depend on.

21:32 Tokyo vs Osaka is a huge topic that many many people do videos on here on KZread. They both have their charms... Osaka is generally more affordable, has warmer and more friendly people, a younger crowd, and is more laid back when it comes to rules and work-life balance. Tokyo is the heart of Japan though, has diverse neighborhoods with varied style, is a hub for technology, fashion, and entertainment. Both are wonderful and have different, but good, vibes.

@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders Growth Without Borders deliberately tries to highlight unsightly regions and places. The area surrounding Tsutenkaku, which extends from Tennoji, is an area where low-income people spend their days seeking entertainment. Nowadays, it is crowded not only with the general public but also with many tourists from overseas. It is also one of the best tourist spots in Osaka where you can enjoy a very friendly and folk atmosphere. But sometimes a **foodie** or **connoisseur** comes in looking for some delicious food. Dishes such as ``soft-shelled turtle'' and ``fugu'' are representative. "Kushikatsu" is also popular.😉

It is through a strict system and licensing process that the Japanese are able to serve the poisonous fish Fugu (Fugu) as a dish. More details below. There are strict regulations regarding the handling of blowfish, and it is generally provided by professionals with licenses and equipment. 1. **Fugu Knife Master License**: Only people with a "Fugu Knife Master" license are permitted to prepare blowfish. This license is given to those who have the skills to remove the innards of blowfish and safely prepare them.¹ Additionally, in order to handle or sell blowfish, a ``fugu business certification'' is also required. 2. **All Japan Fugu Association**: The All Japan Fugu Association aims to pass on blowfish cooking techniques and protect blowfish food culture. They have established certification standards for blowfish processors, taught blowfish cooking techniques, and cultivated human resources. We are also working both domestically and internationally to spread the food culture of blowfish.
