He’s gotta be pushing 50 if he’s not there already, even in his amateur tapes from the 2000s dude looked to be in his late 20s/ early 30s. Dude would have been a monster if he went pro in his prime considering how he’s looked as a pretty old guy by the time we’ve seen him.

He is 42. What you guys are doing is straight up wrong. Most black Cubans live a very hard life. People like Ortiz especially. He was fighting in the amateurs to barely feed his family. And after his daughter was born working + boxing while barely sleeping. When you live in the conditions they live in, you are bound to a little faster. Ortiz first ever tournament debut was at age 19. To enter any, you have to present your passport and national Id as a way of validation. Ortiz is the age he is. 42 now, 39 at the time of this fight. This “ how old is he” bullshit is one of the many ways boxing industry created to keep certain fighters away from certain fighter. You guys are telling me that likes of Ortiz, Riggo and Ugas are competing at the level they’re competing at while being 50+? Get yo shit together and think with your brain for a second. Dumb question. Now guys who are competing all around the world at high level in the amateurs are faking age. And only the ones from Cuba at that. Not anyone else. Just the Cubans. That’s the excuse to duck them, discredit them or their opponents and more. Crazy.
