My wife and I live in southwest Missouri and we only found the Orthodox Church about 9 months ago. We have been Catacumen now for 4 months. It has been both the most difficult and most important thing we have ever done in our lives! I think it can be kind of hard for people who are born into Orthodoxy (cradle orthodox) who have never known anything different to understand what it is to go through this conversion from a Protestant to Orthodoxy. All I can say is I'm grateful that we found the church! I listen to this video every single morning and sometimes I get distracted and miss a day or two but this has been such an essential part of my day and I'm very grateful for this video. Learning how to put to death the old man day by day is a struggle but prayer is how we fight back! I cannot wait until next year when we are baptized into the church! it's truly what I think about every day! Anyhow I digress.... I just want to say thank you for this video it is a true blessing to my life. 😊

Yesterday I approached the priest and asked to become a catechumen. The Lord called me to Orthodoxy on Christmas week just 2 months ago. Thank you for making this video, its helps me pray. Praise be to the Lord God Jesus Christ.

My godmother, the beautiful Vera, came to America from Belarus. She was the choir director at St Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church and made me love orthodoxy. May her memory be eternal. Now I am the godmother of Abigail, the choir director of St Innocent of Alaska Orthodox Church in Salem Virginia. God is so good!

Any tips for learning Russian language? I'm in Canada where many churches have been burned down. A few years ago the Trudeau government encouraged it. I'd love to move to Russia or Alaska to be among the brothers and sisters in Christ.

Thank you for creating this! I struggle to read with my migraine so this has helped me to keep my prayer rule. I also find myself singing the prayers all day, without realizing what I'm doing. Which always fills my heart with joy.

I am a Christian Protestant from Indonesia. We adopt the Lutheran church from Germany.

A spiritual treasure indeed! Beautifully sung and the reading was excellent:so clear and read with such devotion at a prayerful, meditative speed, too. There was one tiny mispronunciation. The word"enliven" in the 7th Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos. This should be pronounced with a long "i", as in "alive", rather than a short "i" as in "live". English pronunciation and spelling are notoriously tricky! That said, congratulations to the reader for I have listened to several such recordings but only this one offers the full Russian Orthodox Morning Prayers, with chants and, most importantly of all, has crystal clear diction which enables me to pray with full concentration.Glory be to God indeed!

Something I have learned to love about being orthodox is the little misprints and mispronunciations of those who have worked so hard to bring these prayers and books to English speaking people.

Excellent clear reading of the prayers and pacing that is easy to follow. The singing is a welcome bonus. I find it hard to get get myself together in the morning and tend to skip over the customary opening (nachalo obychnij) and Psalm 50 half consciously and wake up at some point after that. I think it's Google that doesn't capitalize "God" in automated captions. You can turn them off.

You must have automated subtitles turned on. You can turn them down, we have subtitles in the video itself.
