Orrson Custom Farming Corn Silage Harvest in North West Ohio

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I am out in the field with Orrson Custom Farming out of Apple Creek Ohio as they custom harvest corn silage for a dairy farm in Northwest Ohio. In the video Orrson is chopping corn silage using their two Krone Big X 1180 self propelled forage harvester with Krone Easy Collect 1050-3 headers that can take 14 30 inch rows of corn per pass. They are running 10 semi trucks and trailers to haul the chopped silage from the field back to the dairy farm where they are unloading then pushing and packing a pile of silage using their Case IH 500 & 550 articulate 4WD tractors with front blades plus their 3 Fendt 927 tractors all with front mounted blades.
There was a lot of action going on making this quite a long video. I shot this video on the evening of September 8 and the morning of September 9, 2022. The video includes lots of drone footage from 3 different fields plus some ground shots with some in cab footage as I rode in one of the choppers.
Orrson Custom Farming is based out of Apple Creek Ohio and does custom forage harvesting from Georgia to Michigan.
Thanks for watching and feel free to Like, Subscribe and Comment on the video. You can also follow me on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok @farmhandmike.

    Hey Mike, if you're back up at this dairy again during silage with Orrsons feel free to come take some shots of the manure pumping if you want! My family pumps the manure for this dairy they're at! We use a dragline system for stuff that's within roughly a 2 and a half mile distance. Then we have a semi tanking crew come in to haul the manure farther distances to a frac tank that we pump out of from there!

Curious to see how the do that when it is a few hundred feet long and real wide! Thanks again Mike. Happy trails!

  • @jonorr632

    @jonorr632

    5 ай бұрын

    The radio can be very entertaining from time to time. Would have to have a beep editing out some of the stuff to keep it kid friendly. We are usually just letting the trucks know when to pull forward or drop back. Telling the next truck to line up on the next sets of rows if this one is going to be full at the end. We will let trucks know if we find wet or holes spots so they can avoid them. Truck dives talk about road situations or hazards. Packing tractor drivers talk about where they might see a low spot on the pile or if someone like the dairyman, the sample takers or a nutritionist is approaching the pile. We stop all of tractors on the pile if a person walks towards the area.
