Digital downloads of Orpheus music are being offered by Iris Music Group (IMG). The mixes on these releases do not match the original LP's and in many cases, a digital echo effect has been added. Furthermore, IMG has deliberately changed the artist's names in an apparent attempt to circumvent royalties. Orpheus does not endorse or recommend these dishonest and sonically substandard releases.

I agree with you as to it being one of the most underrated songs of all times....I have always loved it and my appreciation for it has never waned. I still play it every now and then... In fact I posted it on my Facebook page last night. ( newer Facebook page). I will post it every once in a while when I`m listening to it to see if I get a reaction from anyone who remembers or appreciates it but no one has ever reacted to the song which makes me kinda sad because it`s such a beautiful song. I will take it to my grave...lol. I``m 67 yrs old and have had quite a collection since I was 12 yrs old. I just listened to "The Weight" by "The Band" also which was a great song too. Sooooooo many great songs !! They keep me alive !! Well thanks for appreciating the Orpheus song !! And have a great day !!

WolfSky9 As I approach 70 I say the same thing to myself almost every day. I see old movies on TV that I saw first run in the movies and I remember them like it was yesterday; then I see the copyright date of 1972 and I just know it couldn't have been 47 years ago. I used to think that I was blessed because I had a great memory; my friends envied me because I didn't have to study so hard because of this gift of recall...my family never consulted the TV Guide to see what was on TV, they just asked me. Little did I know that a great memory in youth becomes a curse in old age as you can't rid yourself of times, places and especially loves that no longer exist except in my memory. Instead of happiness, these memories have made me sad and depressed. I think sometimes that I'd rather not have them, but then again, I'm not so sure if I really want that.

Big local hit on WORC in 1968. The whole album was good. They came to our high school and played in the gym, a great show. Dedicated "Wild Man of Borneo" to the principal. Three years later this became a national hit.

WORC, I assume Worcester, where Orpheus was from? This song got extra heavy airplay on WMEX Boston where I lived in '68. AM radio baby we didn't know from FM yet. I was 10 years old at the time and liked it even then; now, it's a real nostalgia trip. One of the deejays even brought it back a year or 2 later and it climbed back up the local charts. It really is timeless. Peace.

Not under rated , maybe not exposed
As strange as this may sound, the music of the 1960s was a big part of being a teenager in the 1980s. Oldies radio stations were popping up everywhere in the United States of America when I was in high school back then. When I worked as a busboy at the Ground Round Restaurant when I was 19 years old back in 1983, there was a group named Fred that performed there; and they would perform this same song by Orpheus. Therefore, even though I don't remember this song as a toddler when it was first released in 1968, I heard it on the radio all the time as a teenager. This was a beautiful song that was loved by both the Baby Boomer Generation and my generation - Generation X. It had that mystical and sentimental way about it.

Discovered these guys when I was in graduate school in the mid 70s and I was just blown away. What harmony, original songs, arrangements, and instrumental backup. I bought every album I could find. Orpheus should have been a major force in recording. They’re so much better/more talented than 95% of the recording artists. Just beautiful music.

This song have a melancholy kind of feeling, like remember someone who pass
takes me right back high school .... can't believe how long ago ... and yet only yesterday
Remembering that day in '68 when we bumped elbows at the old Kelley Square Pizza down in Wormtown. Been over 50 years ago and that place' still standing.

Then I started digging into those classics myself, and I guess this was one stop on the road to the meaning of 'timeless.'
most beautiful song
I think I heard this song when I was a toddler over 50 years ago.
Bought this album from my local Music store in Lexington Ma. along with the Beacon Street Union album... in I believe 1969... lost my old albums long ago in a move to a new place...Thank gawd for UToob... Wish that you guys (Orpheus) were able to get a national national record deal that would have kept you going...I know you would have done well...Glad your working on keeping your sound alive today...

+blueskycountry1952. Ohh, blueskycountry1952? I know how you feel. I was in the Northridge earthquake out in California back in 1994, and the first thing that I did was check to make sure that my records were not damaged. I had a 45 record of "Can't Find The Time" by Orpheus among my collection of records. I still have that 45. Luckily, it turned out that all of my records, including that particular one, were unscathed.

If it wasn’t for you tube I wouldn’t have ever gotten to enjoy this hauntingly beautiful song, thanks for posting !
This song brings back such memories of a strange and difficult time in my life. My body aches with sadness hearing it. Yet, it's such a beautiful, mesmerizing song. Thanks for the memories - both good and bad make us what we are.

I get it, too.
Such a beautiful song. I saw "the greatest beer run ever" last night and freaked out when it played in the movie. Very cool for the Farrely brothers to use the original 20 years after using the hootie and the blowfish cover in "me, myself, and Irene."

Yeah!Yeah, I saw that movie too and I have the original vinyl album. But like, you I also freaked out when I heard it in the movie and had to go search it out. Something about his voice when he sings, your pretty face, hits me right in the gut. My roommate in college knew them from her home town and told me they made headlines when the police were chasing them after a drunken brawl. I fell in love and wanted to go home with her to meet them. never did.
This wonderful song has been running around in my head for the past week and I have been playing it over and over again. I don't know what has come over me, but it's a great song - melody and lyrics, arrangement, production, and the vocals. Bruce Arnold wrote and sang a wonderful song. And he was so cute in that 1969 video on KZread! I hope to see him perform it one day in person.
I heard this today on 60s Gold on SiriusXM. The DJ mentioned it was more popular in New England than across the country. I’m from New England, and remember loving this song.

MGM records had good distribution of this record in New England, especially in Boston, but it was not well-stocked in other areas of the US. Orpheus is a band from Worcester, MA, so, yeah.

Played in NYC. Great song spring of '68.
Saw them sing this live at The Ark in Boston around the time of it’s release. Packed, and sweating profusely, their sound was transcendent, and still conjures up that special time of my pre-jaded, teenage self
Worcester Telegram & Gazette, October 28, 2022; Bruce Arnold, co-founder of Orpheus, remembered by Worcester friends and musicians, by Richard Duckett--Bruce Arnold, a founder of the Worcester rock group Orpheus and the writer and lead vocalist of its atmospheric 1968 hit "Can't Find the Time," "had a big heart and tons of passion," recalled his friend and fellow bandmate and Worcesterite Howie Hersh. Arnold was also extremely animated, "like standing next to a ball of fire," Hersh said. "It was not all of a sudden." Arnold has been unwell for a while and died several days ago, but the family wanted to keep matters private before making the announcement. After signing with MGM Records, Orpheus released four quite successful and well-regarded albums between 1968 and '71 and toured the country. Then in 2014, after a gap of about 40 years, Arnold, who lived many years in Marin County in California, returned to Worcester to perform a concert titled "Orpheus: The Homecoming" that was held at Mechanics Hall. Arnold was happy at the prospect, as he related in an interview with the Telegram & Gazette. "I want to see everybody. I want to talk to everybody. I want to hear their Orpheus stories," Arnold said. No other information about Arnold's death was immediately available, but friends and fellow musicians have been reacting with sadness to the death of Arnold, and pointing out his place in Worcester's music history. Local Worcester music veteran Walter Crockett went to junior and high school with Arnold. " 'Can't Find The Time' was the first hit to come out of Worcester in the rock 'n' roll era, and it was a great pop song, much in the genre of the Association, but original," Crockett said. "Can't Find the Time" was the first release from the band's eponymous debut LP in 1968. A love song, it had a mesmerizing flavor and flow to an orchestral arrangement and the refrain of "I can't find the time to tell you." The song had re-releases and various interpretations, including one by Hootie & The Blowfish heard in the movie "Me, Myself and Irene." While together, Orpheus played on the same bill with a number of major acts of the era, including Cream, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, The Who and many others.
The first time I heard this song I didn't hear it again for about a year. It was briefly on WMCA, in nyc, then I went away to school. My sophomore year, a freshman from Boston had the album. We wore it out playing it. Now, in 2019 (about to be 2020 in 2 days) she and I are still friends, and it's still our go-to album from 1971. Thank you, Orpheus.
RIP Bruce❤️🎶🎼🎵🎤🎧
Absolutely love it it just makes me feel good to listen to it.
I keep coming back to this when I need a relaxing uplift!!!
First time I've heard the full version instead of just the radio edit. The long ending give the song a more complete feel.
great song
Entered the US hot 100 on 8/23/1969 and it was criminal that it stalled at #80. This is so classic. With music like this it was great being 15 at the time.
