ORPHANED ALBINO ELEPHANT KHANYISA🐘💚 - ONE YEAR since she was rescued from the grips of a snare
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Today we are celebrating the anniversary of Khanyisa arriving at HERD - how time has flown!
We made a lengthy video looking back at her journey - with a lot of unseen footage! It covers a unique little albino elephant calf's road to recovery - a journey that has inspired so many people, including us.
The year that Khanyisa has spent in our care has not only healed the precious baby albino elephant physically but emotionally too.
Her confidence, joy and trust developed - under the loving guidance and protection of our incredible, selfless carers, Adine and Elephant Manager, Tigere, Lammie the Legendary sheep companion, and the elephants who have become family to the calf.
The year gave Khanyisa so much, in her second chance at life, but we could never have expected what she would give to so many. She gave us light in a dark year, inspiration when there was little to find, and a daily reminder to keep on fighting, no matter what life stacks against you.
Thank you to everyone for your kindness in supporting HERD over the past year and beyond, whether it be financially or emotionally. We are very grateful for you.
A special thank you again to Petronel and her team at CareForWild for starting our journey with Khanyisa.
Put your feet up, grab yourself a cup of coffee and a biscuit and join us in looking back at Khanyisa's brave past 12 months.
We hope you enjoy the video!

Humans have consistently failed to understand how intelligent & emotional elephants really are. To prove my point their is a guy in Thailand who plays classical piano to elephants & they show a definite appreciation for Beethoven & Bach. The music even calms down an aggressive, stressed out adult male.
Khanyisa survived four days without food and water. An amazing spirit of survival !!! 🐘🐘🐘🌿🌿🌿💧💧💧

What an amazing group of human beings you are, helping Khanyisa and other elephants in distress. It’s definitely not an easy task, emotionally & physically, especially when serious injuries are involved. Khanyisa, the rest of majestic elephants you have helped, and your whole group feels my heart with happiness and hope for the future. I rescued pets for more than 20 years and hope that if there’s another life, wish I could spend it helping these awesome animals, as well as others. Oh my goodness. This brings back so many memories!!! One year ago, I read about a rescued baby Albino Elephant who had been caught up in a poachers snare and that began my introduction to Khanyisa and Herd Elephants! We knew her prognosis was not good but we hadn't reckoned on her Incredible spirit nor the absolute determination from the Wonderful Founder of HERD Elephants, Adine Roode, that this baby was not only going to survive but eventually join her new family, the Beautiful Jabulani Herd. One year on, through joy, worry, illness, sleepless nights, more worry, more joy - and that's just from us followers!! - Khanyisa is part of the Jabulani Herd. An adopted Mama Lundi, sisters, aunts, uncles - she is thriving!! I adopted her early on - as did many others - and she is just a JOY!!! God Bless and Thank You Adine, all the Carers, Doc Rogers, Ben and Helen van Hulle, everyone who helped during lockdown and of course Lammie The Legend!! You have all given 110%, worked when you were utterly exhausted and just kept on going, often running on empty. Thank You Sue and Tamlin for your fantastic support and I'm sorry if I've missed anyone! This film - with some unseen footage too - reminded me of what an Epic journey this has been for a baby Elephant who just wanted to live, and the human and Elephant families who helped her - and continue to help her - every step of the way. I love you Khanyisa and Everyone at Herd Elephans and Jabulani Safari!! 💛🐘💛🐑💛🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Khanyisia's human family who have taken such good care of her. Bless all of you. Khanyisia is an inspiration to everyone. It will be much more I think. This is such a special herd. They are orphans and yet accept each new elephant w/such love and protection. To have all the bulls in the same herd is just beyond rare. Adine's dream of giving orphans a Elephant family is not rare, what IS rare is how they are all orphaned and have formed a family/herd of females and males. The bulls are just as protective of the herd and the babies in it as are the females. It is an extraordinary story of hat will become known worldwide.

Oh my goodness there aren’t enough words for this,I cried watching these moments especially from the very beginning seeing those horrific wounds around this little baby’s ears and head then seeing her integrated among the beautiful souls that make the Jabulani herd what they are particularly with Bubi,Lundi and her big sisters it’s truly amazing when she goes running full sprint to them and they wrapped her up lovingly among trunks & legs “you’re safe and protected we’ve got you now”🤗🤗Kahnyisa Braveheart is precious a true survivor who could have easily given up but she didn’t,she chose to fight to live and I’m so happy for her because she’s touched so many lives with her loving Sunshine spirit;in our own way we are all better for having gotten to follow this little elephants journey even if only through pictures and videos I know for me personally Kahnyisa will forever own a piece of my heart, you made it little one happy rescue anniversary!☀️🌈❤️🐘 Thank you to the one in a million team that has dedicated themselves to her every need 24/7all of you are incredible.

I love this look back, her tiny rubbery looking legs stumble and run after carers, she is just scooting around like a puppy, trotting and galloping with her adorable gait dut dut dut dut dut dut... trying to catch up. Sweeter than sweet. Her movements are like a human baby at times. Her eyes are so beautiful and how she gazes with her perky child wonder, and her cuddling, how she plays with toys, and rakes, wants to help, and do what you are doing, I just get my daily tears and feel a warm pride like she is such a good happy baby girl! Oh, and her little trunk all uncoordinated, just gaining strength, and learning about ele-ness every minute, what joy! 💐 Thanks and much gratitude for the constant videos to feel the care and warmth of the HERD and her herd and all the viewers here, and donations by members we are feeling she is ours we are invested in her and the whole HERD too. 💜 I need to have faith and I found my heart singing again, to see this you pour yourselves into what gives back blessings and joy. The acceptance & love you’ve shared with us has been a much-needed gift in this troubled year, especially for those of us with current sorrows. It’s the pure peace & joy in them that has often nudged me to smile when I didn’t realize I wasn’t! Like a hug from across the world from this cuddly little being’s incredible spirit. Though she’s not so tiny now, she’s still our little girl. Thank you again for this lovely look at her first year in your warm embrace. You’ve done a brilliant job. 🌿💖💗💕🐘💕💗💖🌿

Thank you so much. Khanyisa was so accepting of their love - it was as if she knew we were helping her. The immense trust she gave to Adine in cleaning her wounds every day was incredible. No sedation - as you cannot give continual sedation, and Adine would have her fingers in her mouth, in the wounds cleaning them day and night. Khanyisa would lay there relaxed, knowing she was being loved. That level of bonding with Adine and her carers created something very special. 100% agree she should be the face of anti-poaching

❤️❤️ Thank you!
Precious baby girl! You all saved her life and the herd nurtured her, teaching her what an elephant needs to know. We are all looking forward to continuing to follow her daily life!
These elephants are amazing and so are their human carers! I cried over her wounds and laughed with her happiness. Thank goodness for all the people that cared about this little angel.
Our Khanyisa, triumphantly made it through, with the love and care from Adine , the Herd and everyone involved! I’m shedding grateful tears!! What a joy to behold Khanyisa’s wonderful journey!!💖🐘💖🐘💖🐘💖🐘💖🐘💖🐘💖
Poor soul, I am so happy that they have found her, and now she is white all of you. Thank you so much for taking care of this beautiful soul🥰❤
Great job, HERD, Khanyisa and Jabulani herd! You’re blessed! 💝
Thank you for all you do with these magnificent beings
Like Mac Swanton since i've started to follow the Khanyisa stories, i begin to feel love for her before and for all of the Jabulani herd. I'm thinking every day about your amazing job for these animals that are more intelligent than that i think before, these animals are unselfish and carefull more than the humans that still i don't understand is how people can do pain to them, and the orphanage is the best answer to my questions, i wish one day i can go to visit them i'm sure they can give more happiness to me and help you for that i can... For now i sent you the best wishes and greatings for all fo you and your jobs
Your fans love you more than you know Khanyisa... Lovnlight always little girl 🐘❤😇 Feel the Love ❤ 😊🤗💞
Thank you for this video! This is most close-up I have ever seen elephants. It's amazing how much Khanyisa trusted all of you right from the beginning and how calm she was, even though she must have been in so much pain. I also didn't realize that she was 124 kg when she was climbing right on to Adine!
I absolutely LOVE elephants just from watching them on KZread!

Me too!
I found you guys and gals about a year ago. I was totally amazed ! I only just now stumbled across this history of Khanysia's rehab and first year getting to know the herd. What a terrible time she had, losing her mom and suffering from her injuries. You have all been so gentle, caring, kind, guiding, and loving with her. I have enjoyed being "a part of her family, humans, ellies, lambs", and have been greatly touched by the individual ellies devotion to each other. I am totally endeared to them all. Especially to Khanysia because of her cute, adorable and funny antics. I can't thank you enough for devoting your lives to the animals ❣️. You are also helping me through this terribly political time and the awful things our own "American born" treasonous people are doing to try and murder our nation. I have you and the ellies to share your knowledge, your beautiful country and your love. Thank you from the depths of my heart ❣️ 😊 🌳🚶🏾♂️🐘🚶🐘🧍🏼♂️🐘🌿🌻
There are tears of happiness to see how dedication and submission sparked a little hopeless life to enjoy her life with you all.a lot of love and respect from India.
