Oroville's CULT leader Brother Isaiah
Who was this guy? I kept seeing him in the archives, so I decided to investigate! Brother Isaiah, was a self proclaimed faith healer to the sick. He travelled all over and had thousands of faithful followers.
He finally died in his stone tabernacle in Oroville CA in 1934. We are going to go see if we can find it too!
ALL ACTUAL photos of Brother Isaiah are from the online Meriam Library Archives CSU-Chico

Nice to see and hear from you again. TY, Miss April !
Hi April. The revival moment was very strong in Los Angeles during his time. My grandfather was a preacher in 30s-40s, poverty was not a burden to my Grandpa, he eventually settled in Compton and preached the Gospel. I remember visiting Grandpa in Compton when he was very old. -Dino
This was interesting April, thank you for sharing.
well done
That was a fun field trip!
Nice to hear you, again. Wow, his wife and children dodged a bullet.
Yay it's you 😊❤
What a wonderful surprise to see my favorite Teacher on screen and in fine voice too! Me thinks it's easier for you to use the "Bond...James Bond" voice when editing your video! We do appreciate you April when you are Our Guide and especially when you are driving as I'd get nervous going down a road in the left lane! 🤣 I personally wouldn't call Brother Isaiah a "Cult Leader". He was a bit eccentric as a faith healer possibly but appeared to be quite harmless. Sounds as though he got a somewhat bad rap with the Cult tag! I do feel sorry for how he left his wife and kids. Obviously he was ALL IN on his need to spread the word. A Bountiful Tale To Tell! Heath and ZEB are absolute Hero's👍 MOO From COW-lumbus, Ohio From Jack Boy & Stu 🍎
Omgosh that's what they called" Isiah's Temple".. It's an old Monstary out in Garden Ranch.. I lived there when I was a kid in the 70' s my dad was a caretaker of the property.. One of the most interesting buildings in Oroville.. I vividly remember playing there for hours. It was like something out of medieval times.. I am sorry that you couldn't find it.. It would be cool to see it again..
