    there's not nearly enough content/examples/etc about how to approach these more "professional" blood axes, TYSM for making and sharing this, hope there's more in the future! maybe your BAs need an artillery section, so you can use their "Spotted 'Em" rule.

    Thank you mate - yes this video hasn’t been too popular unfortunately. I do have some OG metal stormboyz which I plan on doing at some point soon. The artillery idea sounds amazing! 👍 thank you for tuning in brother and I am glad you enjoyed it! 🙏

    leadbelcher and whatnot never had the impact on me that Boltgun Metal had; in my head, that's still what call all my dark metallic paints.

    While it looks great, one option that might have been interesting is to take a cue from the military modelers and wargamers of the more modern conflicts. Look for a clear acrylic disk of the size you want the rotor blade and paint the leading edges of the rotors for it with blurred drag for a motion blur...painting the underside and it works rather well for chopper blades in motion

    Yes I know what you mean - some guys can pull this off pretty well - they just all still end up looking a bit like, well, painted acrylic disks! 🤣 Seriously though I like the flexibility of having it as a potential static objective or terrain piece and I think the disk locks you into diorama mode. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching mate. 👍

    @@maddokminis Put a magnet on and do both...then you can also spin the propeller if you want to. One of the major issues a lot of helicopters have with wargaming is that the propellers tend to create a massive break point if it gets bumped.

    How do you determine whether to use superglue or hot glue when attaching materials?

  • @maddokminis

    @maddokminis

    I guess you kinda just get a feel for it. Hot glue tends to stick the things that superglue won’t and same is true in reverse. Hot glue has more mass so isn’t very good at sticking things down super flat - it is however great at gap filling. Superglue has the slight edge in sticking things to smooth surfaces I would say. I’m sure other crafters would disagree and/or have their own opinions. Hope that helps man. Thanks for watching 👍

    I disagree on the contrast for bigger models, if those models are for a Orc army. Gives it a orcy feel as if they just slapped it together and kept on moving. Love the build tho.

  • @maddokminis

    Yeah I think it kind of enhances the Ork look too. I just used them because I am lazy - but so are orks when it comes to painting things! I think if you are after a clean result on large flat surfaces there is no doubt that you should probably avoid them however.

    @@davidelliott7507 yeah, I’ve heard that works well. I must try them through my airbrush sometime - although I don’t personally enjoy airbrushing at all weirdly! 🤷🏼‍♂️
