Somewhat ashamed to say I often leave negative comments, though I don't think I've done so on this channel. I'll shed a bit of light on why I do so, it might be of some interest! My guiltiest pleasure is often a kneejerk reaction to content or another comment that I don't like. My main objective in these cases is have my dissenting opinion feel seen, although I must admit when I sense others have bad intentions I'm more likely to get a kick out of the idea that my comment will irk them in the way they've irked me. It's a sort of "self defense" mechanism - and I fear a lot of well-meaning people like me end up being bullies as a result of their own insecurities. I avoid dogpiling though as I see that as "true" bullying, whereas one on one comment threads are more fair game. If I'm ever alerted to the fact that I may have genuinely upset someone, I immediately pull back and apologise as it's not my intent to ruin anybody's day. I do a bit of trolling too, but I keep it light. I just enjoy getting reactions to stupid comments I make sometimes - I'll get dogpiled on, and see the worst in people for it while I play the fool. My proudest one was convincing people that I believed space engine footage was real, and that we humans have already been to Mars and shot footage there. Very childish and very silly, but I see it as mostly harmless. I have not considered the effect these comments may have on smaller video creators however, so you've definitely given me something to think about in that regard. I can think of a few smaller creators that I've left passive aggressive comments to without much thought to the effort they'd put into their content. My brain wants to justify this sort of behaviour with bigger channels as a logical "next step", but of course this doesn't change the fact that individuals work hard on the content they make and may be discouraged by bad faith feedback. Anonymity is definitely a huge factor for why I'm a bit of a nob online. I'm not really opposed to some of the bigger websites like youtube/twitter needing some kind of identity verification due to that, though I can definitely see why people would worry about having political views and somesuch forever tied to their real life identity. Any trolling of mine would cease, and I'd be much more cautious about any online arguments that I get into. Your "kill it with kindness" idea is a great one and a trick that both works on me and I like to use. However I like to try and be sincere with those, rather than viewing it as a confusion grenade - probably because it works so well on me when it's sincere. If I sense it's an insincere attempt to wave me away, I'll tend to be passive aggressive back. On the reverse, if I'm nice and people continue to be cruel, it gives me a sense of peace that I've taken the high road and left the door open to reconciliation. Not much more that can be done after that! Thanks for opening up the topic Mad Dok!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts mate and for being so honest and self aware. A very interesting read! We are all different in how we approach the online world. I have been around the block a few times in life and have unfortunately seen some pretty awful things, this I think (for me personally) has shaped an unwillingness to be mean to people who don’t deserve it. I don’t mind if trolls get offended by my nice guy brush offs tho! 🤣 You hit the nail on the head; anonymity is the vehicle which transports cruelty. Thank you for taking the time to tune in! 👍

Love the idea of a confusion grenade! When someone is coming at you, online or in person, with anger -- here's what to do.... stay with both feet planted on the ground. Imagine they're on the second or third rung up of a ladder. If you 'rise' to it, even putting one foot on the bottom rung of the ladder - immediately they're UP there to the top, flying up fourth rung, fifth rung, so on rung after rung. No point in trying to match that intensity as they have the lead on you. If you stay on the ground, stand as you are, it's not "taking it", what you're actually doing is taking control - as eventually they will come down to the ground as well.

Lotta wisdom in this video, Brother. I did KZread for about two and a half years, mainly doing Farm Sim Let's Plays and similar. I never really got the momentum going and never made it past 1000 subs, so I never drew the attention of the serious trolls. I did have one regular hater though, who came across as very young, who took exception to some scripted, kayfabe banter between myself and another YTer that he was a fan of. After that, every video I released instantly gained a dislike. I kinda grew fond of the little tyke, like some half-wild rodent who stole nuts from the bird feeder and left nasty comments. Thing is, when you look at it, even the nastiest comments from serious trolls are essentially as meaningless, inconsequential and utterly without weight as anything from my ratty little friend. Like all bullies they're trying to fill an emptiness in their life by trying to put others down, more tobe pitied than anything. They're not worth getting angry about, DEFINITELY not worth getting upset about.

just letting you know, Powerfist mounted stormbolters would be perfectly fine in combat because of how the powerfield works. it doesnt so much as add extra damage, but more so causes the molecules in the target to split, so its like a weaponized shield technology in that sense. so the guns would be covered in the same field thus making the likelihood of damage to those systems highly unlikely. That being said, you have personal aesthetic (hope i spelled that correctly) reasons for doing so as well, and this look is good itself. overall 10/10 conversion.

The thing I like most about them is the arm positioning. It actually lets them look aggressive instead of the "going for a hike in the woods with a big backpack" that the normal aggressors have.

Interesting take, I like it. The biggest necessity to fix them though, is the price of a box of them.. even for GW they are on the worse end of pricing
