I just imagine how insanely good Cliff would've been with another 30 years of playing. He was already a bass god back then, but what a treat it would be to hear him still playing today.

And considering how different the guys all look and sound compares to back then, I wonder what Cliff would look and sound like today. Well, TBH, only James and Jason have changed voice wise. Kirk and Lars still sound the same as they did when they were young.

  • @HerotsLament

James actual voice is the same, but he tore up his voice chords in 92 so that's why he can no longer sing like the badass he used to be, which is possibly one of the worst things that has ever happened in metal hisotry, James vocals made metallica sound epic, now and since 92 is just not the same...in fact he sounds worse than James Labrei at times

Since my mother and I live in New York, we heard that they were going to Webster hall so we just went to at least see James or someone. Someone in charge came out saying that there were spaces available and my mother actually got in. I didn’t since I’m still a minor (yes it fucking sucks) but my mother had a blast. Literally 25 dollars and got to experience this.

i dont know what it is about Cliff, but i always feel a loss for him unlike anything i feel for any other person i didnt actually personally know. any time i hear Orion i tear up a little every time it gets to his little interlude part. it always hits me, just seeing pictures of him i get a little sad thinking of all the things that could have been.
