Love to see more solo tabletop stuff on KZread. I play tabletop games with friends once or twice a week, but I've also basically replaced video games in my life with solo ttrpgs. I think they're incredibly fun, and I'm really enjoying this series, lots of novel ideas that I'm totally gonna steal for my own games! Solo gaming is a great way to explore games that you can't find a group for, too

Excellent!
I appreciate these videos on solo play. I’ve been playing B/X solo lately and loving it. Being able to play the game completely RAW is a blast and a great way to master the game.

I'm just starting a B/X solo hex crawl, gonna do a few dungeon sessions before I really explore the world but I agree that playing solo is a great way to learn the ins and outs of a game system.
Daniel, I absolutely love this mini game within the game. It is a great example of how evasion and pursuit works in OD&D. As far as the fiction goes, I am struggling to imagine a single mapper roaming the vast wilderness without weapons or mercenaries. But I guess that's part of it. Also, When the mapper gets the map, is he mapping a dungeon at that location, or is he finding maps that are out in the wilderness, perhaps on fallen adventurers and such? I am looking forward to seeing more of this.

I imagine them finding a dungeon. Even if they had a weapon they would not fight, odd are they would be quickly defeated. Thanks!
Absolutely loved this! I’m a fan of solo live play, and OD&D, so this is right up my alley.

Thanks!
Well done! I've been playing solo RPGs since the beginning of Covid. I use Barbarian Prince for the map and events but play with BX for characters and combat. Outdoor Survival seems to have stuff I'd like to add to my campaign.

That sounds cool, I have Barbarian Prince but have yet to play it.
Loving the series, one suggestion: I don't know what your filming/editing limitations are, but I think you could safely go for more than one mapper "turn" in a video. You mentioned it was a short session, and if you were so inclined you could squeeze another one in, if you wanted to! Loving the series, love all your stuff, I'll definitely be back for the next one!

Ah yes, I am testing the waters so to speak as far as length - the next one is 25 minutes. I tend to record 2-3 at a time (playing for 1-1.5 hours) it’s the editing that gets me 😂
Great video! I just bought the Outdoor Survival and am waiting to try this out myself. Do the treasure map and treasure list charts come from the 3 little brown books?
