Brut made the bottle swag wearing a medallion like a 90s rapper

The original Eau Sauvage from 1966 is another one that brings me right back. Amazing how a scent can totally transport you back like nothing else can. Not photos, not even music. It's so primal and goes directly to longterm memories and emotions.

Met my husband in 1972 ,using Brut. 2020,married for 45 yrs,still uses Brut!

My uncle was a sailor pretty much all his life and about 25 years ago he brought me the original (faberge) Brut and I remember it was a love at first sight for me that lasts till nowadays! Great video Paul. I would like to see another one for the Old Spice ...

Love Brut. I'm 43, reminds me of my dad and his friends heading off to play skittles. I've bought all of the brut products. You're spot one with the eu a de toilette. That's the closest.

its true ! smells can trigger memories . when I smell certain things it brings the old memories front and center. Well done Paul !

My dad used to work for Fabergé & sell BRUT in the U.S. in the early 1980s. Since he knows more about the history of Fabergé & BRUT during that time than the internet does, I just want to share a few of the things he told me. The internet barely seems to provide any information about BRUT back when it was still made by Fabergé. For instance, there is little to no mention about: how popular it once was, how many sizes it was offered in, what different kinds of products were in BRUT's product line by Fabergé, or what the most popular product from its line was. When my dad worked for Fabergé, he said that BRUT's closest competitor in terms of popularity among mens' fragrances at the time was Old Spice. He also said that the most popular product in its entire line was the BRUT 33 Splash On Lotion in addition to the gift sets containing Soap on a Rope being hugely popular in the holidays.

Thanks Paul for the memories I remember Brut when I was was a kid my uncles would use it. another popular classic from about that time was Hai Karate aftershave.

I too have a bottle of the Original Brut. I have cousin who is considerably older than me originally own the bottle and just abandoned it. I found it and have immediately laid claim to it. I have some Hai Karate too... :D

I usually wear Old Spice. Recently started wearing Brut also, cause my wife's dad wore both, and she suggested I do the same. He'd wear Old Spice one week, then Brut the next week. Thanks for the video, I will continue with Brut, cause it smells fresh, and manly. And is a great value, and a timeless classic.

Thanks Paul . The Original Brut was a Brut , Strong and Lasted ! It wasn't called Brut for nothing , not a wimp .

I used to "drown" myself with Brut before I went on a date in the late 1960's. I still use Brut aftershave today. Thanks for the video!.

Hi Paul, I was lucky enough to purchase the original faberge brut silver medallion on ebay as in the video. A full bottle never opened. The scent is absolutely remarkable. Very happy i have one now.

No product today comes close to the Faberge original. Unilever produces the fragrance from partly artificial substances. Thanks Paul for the video. I also have an old bottle from the nineties. It's amazing that it's still intact. It smells like the first day and is absolutely unique. It's a shame it's no longer available. Greetings from Germany

Been using the new style brut ordered a original faberge off eBay man you were not kidding the original is great smelling and lasted all day now I’m hooked on the old original

+Ivan Machuca Brutworld USA has told me that the limited edition 25.6 oz Brut Bottle on steroids that's sold in the USA and made by Helen of Troy/Idelle Labs is based on the original formula. I bought if over the holidays and the scent lasted for over 5 hours. See my longer post here. See if you can find youself a bottle of Brut Dominant (orange bottle) which is excellent. I posted a longer comment here that you might enjoy.

Great video on Brut. I pick up a bottle, from anywhere, UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, etc. just for fun. Every morning, one week I will use the one from the UK, next week the one from Europe, so & so forth. Not to compare with the Brut from East Coast US, but just for fun. Original harsh and very lovely.

Ive been listening to 80s music this afternoon. It took me back to some GREAT times. The upshot of it was, that i got an urge to wear Brut again (like i did in the 80s). I have a collection of about 70 modern day frags, from "cheapies" up to more expensive frags, Like Perfume De Marly Layton.

I'll tell ya, this still smells really damn good. Don't have the cologne, but I always have a 7 ounce bottle of splash-on laying around. Usually wear Azzaro Pour Homme, or Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, or Drakkar but this morning splashed some of this old classic on and didn't regret it at all. I love this for pretty much the same reason I like Azzaro Pour Homme. That wonderful anise note, mixed with that leathery shaving foam vibe. Classic masterpiece.👍

I used to wear Brut cologne. I got some for Christmas, when I was young, and I'm not sure why I quit using it.

Nice informative video Paul. I use it because my dad loved it and it reminds me of the old man, now gone sadly. I'm sure if the Incredible Hulk shaves he would definitely use Brut as a splash on after shave! Cheers Glenn

I am a fun of Brut all the way ! In Greece it was quite popular for many years especially in the 90´s. I do want to purchase the one with the gold medalion ! Regardless if i rare shave i went to buy the Old Spice and was really dissapointed..I bought it in Greece and in Germany but it doesnt remind me the strong ,penetrating scent .Anyway ,nice video and keep up the good work.

I can smell those just by looking at the screen. My grandfather used that scent. He's been gone for over 30 years, but I can still feel him. Including smelling his scent.

old memories are fresh again

I’m in the United States and I used to wear Brut back in the mid 90’s. I decided to pick a bottle up yesterday, and it is definitely not like it used to be… it almost has a baby powder sent as opposed to the nice strong masculine scent it used to have. I’m pretty bummed because I was excited to start wearing it again. Then, I was going to pick up a bottle of English Leather and I can’t find that anywhere. Brut and English Leather were my favorites as a young man.

I just bought and tried the Brut Classic Aftershave and it was awesome! It felt good on the skin after a DE shave and the scent took me back. Go out and get some to add to your collection.

i just bought a bottel of brut my dad still wares it today its like a farther/son tradition

After much research the rights to the brand Brut were purchased for some regions by Idelle Laboratories, a division of Helen of Troy Limited. There is a bottle made in Mexico I think which is 757ml (huge bottle!) and will probably last several lifetimes. I got a bottle online for £30 or so and it is exactly like the original in every way and lasts all day. Worth a look for those interested.

Old school scent and is a classic🙂

I still love all those scents from the 1970s, Brut among them.

+PaulHFilms I do have a small 3/8 fluid ounce "glass" bottle of Brute EAU DE Cologne that is old as the hills. Might be a sample bottle I picked up somewhere. Says FABERGE made in USA on the back. Hi Paul great video ahh! Brut. Barry sheen, takes me right back. Try leaving the top off the modern bottle and let some of the spirits evaporate, I'm sure the original is a more concentrated smell due to evaporation. P.s nice to see you dressed for the occasion lol. Only one thing missing the medallion and the goucho moustache.

I used the Brut anti-perspirant deodorant daily back in high school. And I recently purchased the glass bottle after shave and to me they smell completely different. Oh well, memories.

Paul there is a DE Razor I 100% recommend and it is the Razorock Mission which you can get for $19.99 from Italian barber and it comes with a few packs of blades from different manufacturers , this razor is King, Jock Stewart.

Brut 33 is the plastic bottle, but it's no longer called Brut 33. OG formula is now called Brut Special Reserve, while 33 is now just simply called Brut and is very widely available at drug stores and supermarkets.

Excellent video.. We all have memories of Brut the original by Fabergé .. Funnily enough I was never a big fan of Brut ! I hope u can do a similar video about Tabac original. Which is one of my favourite cologens, sadly not the same anymore too ! Thanks...

One very rare thing about Tabac, it's still manufactured by the same guys "M & W" , since it was launched 60 years ago.. Ain't that amazin... Thanx 4 your reply...:-)

is there a difference between the gold and silver version? i found the same edt bottle but it's silver not gold, how do they compare?

So just to confirm Paul, its not made in Paris haha. I've recently bought a few of the other brut aftershaves, the musk and the light blue one. I love the Smell but as you said they tend to fade pretty quickly. Anyway great vid Paul.

Just got old spice and brut splash on and after shave yesterday. Where can I get the eau de toilette?

My very favorite scent. I wish the unilever one in the square glass had more staying power.

I bought the Glass Bottle Aftershave. I been so despertate to sniff it again. I wanted to be transported back to the 80s. I LOVE the smell of it, but it only lasts about 30 mins on my skin......and i have really good skin for most modern frags, as many last hours and hours and hours on me.

I am 35 and bought the aftershave and the body lotion. I find it lasts about an hour on me but I usually wear it after a shower before bed haha

Brut Classic Splash-on in the USA is made in Mexico. It is strong first applied and fades over a few hours. Not sure where it fits with the three you show as currently for sale in the UK.

I bought the Brut Special Reserve online. It smells great.

I have a bottle of eau de toilette in the flask shaped bottle it is a lighter color not dark green liquid like yours. But it smells like the original and lasts longer than the special reserve we have here in the states.

What about the original after shave in the glass bottle? Is it any good? I'm want to buy some aftershave closest to the original.. All I can get in the States is the Classic aftershave.

We wore Brut in the 60s. It was expensive and not widely known. We frequented the Twisted Wheel club in Manchester UK We considered ourselves elite.

Great little clip Paul. I have to say though, I must have been traumatised by the stuff as a kid because I really find the scent of Brut a bit too much. LOL My dad used to use the Brut 33 that was around in the 70's and that was a lighter version of the original 60's scent. I still found it a little overpowering.

The splash on is the renamed Brut 33. It's only a third strength of the original.

¿How about the "special preserved" version, any good?

It's difficult to find the original Brut in the glass bottle in the United States, but I can still get the cologne, the aftershave and the splash-on in the plastic bottles.

Great Video Paul. There were two Brut aftershaves available in the USA for a while; Brut "Dominant" in a red bottle and Brut "Attitude" in a blue bottle. The "Attitude" appears to have been discontinued, but the "Dominant" is still available on Amazon for $7.00. They both worked and smelled really well. I should have stocked up.

Whats the deferent between brut with gold medal and silver medal

Love the smell of Brut. Still wear it sometimes. Probably not as sophisticated as some of todays fragrances though I'm told its becoming trendy again. I see there's now an advert with Vinnie Jones.

Dear sir, i have the Brut eau de toilette in the same bottle with you but not the gold edition. It is exactly the same but with metal color Brut logo and cap. Do you know about this edition? Compare to Brut eau de toilette original in yellow bottles, the Brut for men is stronger in smell.
