It's not one of the collection that I drive very much, but is certainly one of my favourites due to its looks, heritage, and the crazy amount of upgrades that I fitted! But, as I was always told as a kid 'cheats never prosper'!! 😁 I think my porsche 959 would post some great times around the Orchard raceway though..... small, nimble, torquey, and sticks to the tight turns like a scalextric car! Wether it would survive without breaking would be another question though!! 🤣 😂 👍 👍 👍

Evening Mr Bryan! Yeah mate, our run looked kinda lame after seeing what you and Rob got up to with your clods! 🤣 In reality Taylor wanted me to keep it slow as he has trouble keeping up with it with his iPhone in hand recording.... think we need to invest in one of those fancy Go Pro's on a stick like I've seen all you professionals using! 🤣 Also, the NIMH was nearly run out when we done the end footage of it driving down the road..... I forgot how much those old school light bulbs eat the power compared to modern LED headlights. Oh the general lee took it like a trooper..... Its used to being driven over by Taylors police lunchbox all the time! That cars a tough modern kyosho and really takes the abuse well! Anyway mate, hopefully be speeding things up a tad over the next few videos - Tescos figure of eight time trials for the technigold powered hopper, and the superstock powered hornet next week, and have found a potential great track in the woods for some monster truck and buggy races soon..... thinking perhaps of a rally trials video at the same location between my 959 and my mate Shaggy's recently built XV01 Lancia! What an awesome looking beast! Nice mods on the chassis and that original shell looks mint! It’s got so much presence it really doesn’t need to go fast.👍😊

You know I love the Clod(s).... Awesome Run mates!!!!!!!!! The truck looks fantastic with the Sassy Chassis on it!!! The motors though, you know you shouldn't run those, they have timing and nothing you do can help them, one will be slower than the other, no matter how you switch the wires. Run silver cans on 7 or 8 cell NiMH or 3S lipo (you might need to get a HobbyWing 880 esc).... Awesome video and ATB!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Bob! Cheers for watching matey! Yeah fella, well aware of the motor timing thing with the clods..... this one's not really for running, built solely for the shelf! This video was supposed to be a little photo montage /overview of the rig..... but how could I tease you all with all those shots without giving it a very gentle easy cruise around the garden? 🤔 😉 I should have popped a couple of silver cans in for the run but was desperately short of time as we were trying to quickly get footage before I went to work. She's back on the shelf now, I couldn't bare seeing that original body all scuffed up from use! But, I do have a super clod kit upstairs yet to be built which will be my runner (complete with that awful 4x4x4 grill that we both hate so much! 🤣) Addam and Thad have given me some good motor recommendations for the runner one.... but it will probably be a while before I get time to build it! Anyway bud, glad the truck itself passes the Uncle 'Clod' Bob's seal of approval! Cheers for stopping by and commenting mate. 👍 👍 👍 👍

@@yodadarksideGreenHawksRC Better motor option other than those awful Holmes motors (you seen Rob's video), LRP V10 19 turns (Mostly sold in the UK). Yup, twice as much as those holmes motors but probably much better, 4 fold. Just set them to zero timing the rotate then rear motors end bell 180 degress, DONE!!! Or do what I did to the Super Sport motors, not much faster but safer for the esc to handle, remember, the esc must be able to handle the motor turns divided by 2, so say, two 20 turn motors, the esc must be able to handle a 10 turn motor (that's how it was years ago). The Hobbywing 880 should handle the LRP motors ( don't go lower than the 19 turns).

Could be some time yet...... I have 8 or so new kits ready to be built, but just don't seem to get the time these days what with working 7 days a week etc! Man what a gorgeous truck! I love everything about it... can't really say much more! I think the only thing you could do would be to sink a fortune into the aluminum wheels for it! Fantastic truck and thanks for sharing it both in the up close shots and the drive! Keep it off the pavement! My rear end puckered when you were rolling down the street!!! LOL!!

Cheers buddy! 🙏 She's a bit of a Tamiya iconic 'heavy weight'....... quite literally, this thing weighs an absolute ton! 🤣 More of a shelf queen than a runner, but certainly an improvement on the original design I'm sure you will agree. Such a realistic looking rig, something that's really lacking in the modern generation of rc trucks. And yes mate, I was very careful running her on the open road- Dual rates were turned right down on the steering, and in all honesty it's so heavy that it's actually very stable on tarmac! Ouyeah, the daddy of Monster trucks! It's a cool one, it's got that old 80'ies charm to it, and you even drove it over another car, that takes me back to those shows they used to have... And the lights, I bet they are little light bulbs, not LEDs? It's a cool one to see, thanks for sharing!

Cheers Mads! Yeah man, that's why I love this truck so much..... its got that proper nostalgic vintage vibe/80's spirit to it! (with a few more modern tweeks) And yes, very well spotted on the lights mate! Old school original Tamiya light bulb/bucket upgrade.... not LED's. I had forgotten how much these old lights used to drain the battery though..... by the time we done the closing shot of it driving down the road it was nearly flat! 🤣 Cheers for watching and supporting the channel buddy. 😊 👍 👍 👍 👍

Hey Dirk! Thank you Sir 🙏 Yes mate, I love the contrast of the carbon on the aluminium...... and it's such an improvement on the original ABS plastics, in both looks and strength! Unfortunately, it is a tad on the heavy side though, but hey, not guna be racing these things eh?! 😂 Thanks for watching and commenting fella, always appreciated. 😊 👍 👍 👍 👍
