    True sign that Bea loves the equipment he's using: he just starts to play, gets lost in it, then has to make a cut to keep the length down...multiple times.

    It sounds unbelivably good. I had a feeling that my ears were cheating me somehow, all throughout the video. Many many many companies claim their pedals have a natural, amp OD. I've never heard one that actually gets there as much as this does. I must try one in person.

    It's a great sounding pedal no doubt, but what is REALLY making this entire thing sound so epic is the stereo spread of the amp, reverb, and delay - it sounds absolutely massive, even without that pedal. Good lord.

    Larry Lachmann interesting to know I’m looking for a pedal to go in front of my vox ac15. Are you using it with the normal channel or the top boost?

    @@sid35gb I have a single channel AC15, and I did the top boost mod (had it disconnected). I assume that it now acts like a normal channel, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

  • @sid35gb

    @sid35gb

    4 жыл бұрын

    Larry Lachmann interesting. The top boost and normal channels when both connected have cross chatter. So if you use the normal channel but the volume is still turned up on the top boost channel you’ll get a little bit of dirt in the mix through cross chatter between the two channels. The mod must have been done if the previous owner likes a really really clean amp. But to be honest if the top boost EQ’s are all at rolled off counter clockwise the normal channel will be really clean. The really early models were clean and top boost was added as a mod later on there’s a video on KZread about Vox amps it’s quite interesting.

  • @musicmann1967

    @musicmann1967

    @@sid35gb I have a CC1, and it seems to be a single channel, that included top boost. I had the bright cap disconnected, because several friends recommended it really. I also added a Alnico Blue speaker. Pretty standard mods for a latter day Vox from what I understand. I get all of my gain form pedals, so I'm really using it as a pedal platform, and running it pretty clean. It sounds great to my ears. It does sound good when I crank it too though, but I rarely do that.

    I went through a bunch of overdrive pedals and this is the one for me. Those lower notes are just so fat with this pedal and the highs don’t kill your ears. It’s really expensive, but it’s absolutely amazing. I couldn’t get a bad sound out of it. If you love the sound of your amp, you need an overdrive with a blend control. The only thing I would assume could beat this for me is the big version. There are great amp in a box pedals but this thing is like 5 of those amp in a box pedals in one, and really high quality at that. I thought I loved plexi in a box pedals, turns out I love the cranked tweed sound which this does perfectly. Rebea does a great job showing off how easy the pedal is to use and how good it is at shaping and tweaking if you’re into that.

    Excellent review. The pedal is perfect. The detail in the tone is impressive. 99% of all players can find a great sound if you just give them a basic Fender and Marshall sound and give them a few tools to tweak it. This is going to do really well. Not much higher then other premium OD's yet the detail in the sound is easily worth the little extra. The only trouble is a guy may soon find he needs 3 of them to switch to in a single tune. lol

    Oh, and thank you so much for this demo. Your playing is amazing and you manage to get top-notch tone for these demos. However, a slightly irritating thing is the delay on this one. On headphones, it does a nice job doing those lush panned repeats. However, it creates some movement in the center, that feels a bit like your sustain is playing tug of war with my cortex and somehow a slight off-center attack. It's not a big thing, however, it makes it slightly harder to make out the subtle details. It's much better with the Marshall, btw. :)
