I am hopeless with paper stars. After lot's of failed attempts, articles, and videos I finally made one successfully using this easy tuto. P.S. love how you don't tell your life story for 15 minutes at the start of your videos

Ever since grade school, I've been making lucky stars and putting them in my glass jar. Still making em!

its super deceiving the thing can be a really big pain to make look nice. you are not a failure just because you can't do origami, its a skill that takes time don't beat yourself up over it.

Here’s a tip on how to make a star! (Only one side sadly-) Cute out a pentagon and then push the sides in almost the middle of the pentagon. Your welcome!

this is a year late but when ur folding stars with softer paper try not to press down on the pentagon during the process or else the last steps not gonna work

You have to push the paper all the way inside,not only with the exterior layers, at least that was my problem

Crease as light as possible. That’s the trick.

After a fee failed attempts I DID IT!!! *THE TRICK is to NOT fold the edges tightly or sharply. Just kind of fold them softly so they just stay in shape. When you press the sides in make sure your fingers are holding the Then the puff is easier to achieve!

I remember when the original video came out back in the day when I used to be obsessed with origami. Good times...

story of my origami life: aaah this particular thing is super difficult, i've tried 15 videos and articles! *Jo Nakashima* i am now folding this particular thing like Akira Yoshizawa himself

i have to make a bunch of these for class and to learn the process, here's a few things i had to learn: - do not fold the edges too sharply because it wont let them expand! but you also have to make sure you don't over-do this because it'll end up having openings in the corners - use a thinner type of paper, printer paper is the perfect thinness, the toned tan paper and cardstock i used was too thick

I liked the sound while ur folding the paper.........😎😋😁..........crispy !!!!!!!!

First time, had a hard time making it puffy. Second time, followed guidance below to fold lightly/loosely, and it worked much better.

I love making them at restaurants using the paper straw covers, it’s fun and a cool conversation starter too!

These stars turn out really well when you use 20 cm paper. I however only have 15 cm paper. They're just a little weak, but a bit of coaxing makes them look, presentable?

The alternative way I used to do to push the paper to make a dent is I use the edge of a scissors.

the trick to making even stars, which I was having trouble with, is to use your nail to push in the sides not your fingertips (like I was doing)
