Thanks so much! I've been wanting to make a lucky star for forever, but could never figure out where I went wrong (the paper was too short, so then I couldn't make the sides properly, and then pressing the sides in made it worse) Thanks to the tutlrial, I made four pretty okay ones! Still needs some work, but now it resembles a star! Some things I found out: 1. If you are using letter paper (8 1/2 by 11, definitely go for a smaller size. The tail at 2cm wide is too short to wrap around the star after the initial pass to make one of the sides come together. 2. When using washi tape, try not to press the folds down too much. The tape tends to keep them, so once you fold it, it's mostly permanent. 3. The side you want on the outside should not be facing you at the start. As long as you take that into account, the rest of it is the same, and the outside will show up very nicely!

I love how he does is slowly so we can understand what he is doing but i failed at the folding part in the end

So? It's only your fault that it didn't work. He managed to do a star with this tutorial, so did many other people. It's not his fault at all that it didn't work for you. Maybe instead of making such comment because of some stupid piece of paper, just try again? Maybe with a different tutorial? It doesn't have to work for everyone.

Hello! I LOVE this video! It's helped me tremendously! I do have a few questions for you, if you don't mind. First, I notice you don't flatten the sides of the pentagon as your making it. I was always told to crease it down, but that's difficult. What "poundage" of paper do you use? It's card stock I know, but is it very stiff? I need to figure out the measurements to be able to do my own! That's brilliant, as buying strips is often very expensive for me on disability. I have folded some stars that are made with very thick, shiny patterns on them, but can't push the sides in to made the stars! What would you recommend, as a tool other than my fingernails, that would be better for me to control this, and get those lovely stars made? I will be looking for every single video you've made! I really do appreciate your doing them! Hope to hear from you soon! Blessings!

Thanks for the support. Firstly, I don't flatten the sides too much because this way it will be easier to transform the pentagon into a star at the end, if you flatten it too much you will find that it is more difficult to keep everything straight without crushing it. But anyway, I try to roll up the paper, making it very "tight". I live in Brazil, I buy colored A4 sheets that weigh approximately 90 grams per square meter, it may be difficult to find something similar in your country, but being approximate it should work. I cut these sheets into strips of approximately 1.5x30 cm, that is, the length needs to be 20 times the width.
