I'm glad Orianthi mentioned how disciplined MJ was at work. It's so good to hear that MJ had a great work ethnic, mm-kay? If I was so popular and talented, I'd probably fake my death too.

The band and bg singer question is so interesting. There were plenty of the old crew on This Is It. Some even were told they were in and were shocked when they were cut. There is some kind of story behind it...

MJ booked Jennifer Batten only for his live shows, She replaced David Williams, who used to play with the Jacksons' tours for a while. Mj used to work with different musicians in the studio and live. There were only one or 2 musicians he worked with both live and in studio (greg Philinganes -but he was his music director on tours, so...)

Knowing what Michael wants in a guitarist, I think Michael may have thought of bringing back David Williams for "This Is It". However, he died in March 2009 just shortly after Michael announced that this was his last tour.

  • @ThisIsJBird

I'm not under the impression that MJ "fired" all the musicians from previous tours the way this guy describes multiple times. It'd been 12 years since Michael did ANY tour so at this point he probably wanted a fresh (perhaps younger) lineup w/ the exception of drummer Jonathan Moffett and a couple of background singers.

They had given me that drug. Man. I felt refreshed. (I shouldn't have done it, but I had another surgery one week later.) I REALLY looked forward to the drug-sleep. In fact...I'm the LAST fucx in the wake-up room lol. I wake up, with a nurse six inches above my face...with the look of oh shit.
