i finished the game 100% yesterday, in 14 hours, and watching this insanely good and clean speedrun is just satisfying as hell!

Oh Mount Horu... I will never forget how incredibly annoying that was without having dash. And you did it like it was nothing. I was this far from quitting the game when I was running from the owl not even knowing that is the last part of the game (I did the part like 50 times no joke). The precision in this run is godlike level.

That was so close in the end, I almost forgot that you didn’t restore Gisno Tree and the water is still poisoned. Now I understand why we need 5 life containers 👍

Yes, that's why we take the 5 life containers. That has become pretty standard on most categories though, and it's actually quite easy to do. I have to say I miss doing ginso tree escape though :) If you want to see a close water section on the final escape check this out. @@user-wr3yh3ig4p my pleasure. :) yes exactly, but to make it more interesting we do it with the ability menu open so that we can skip part of the last cutscene :D + it's in one life mode. Haha

The movement is so clean, just started the game 3 days ago

Just enjoy it untill you get to the annoying passages :).

Hearing the credits after finishing my under 4 hour speedrun was honestly amazing, and now im seeing people do it under 40 minutes like damnnn your precision is amazing

At 9:56 I thought it was impossible to be doing a four energy door, but then I realized how you got a level a tiny bit after so you could get four energy, that is really so smart, and the movement was superb as well.

I just finishied this game today, spent 10h and Im like 99% complete xD Might go back to check what im missing. But this was so impressive. When I got that Charge Flame (I think) I used it once, and never again xD And you are SPAAAMMMIING it :D

Nice! I just beat the game for the first time. I didn't even realize that charge dash were a thing! Would have save me a lot of time!

I also didnt learn about charge dash on my first playthrough. I kept wondering why I was glowing when I pressed a certain button. Then when I got that super jump ability, I thought that it was meant for super jump when I got it. Then I go and charge dash into an enemy by accident in the opposite direction I wanted to go in and die. And then I thought "What was that." I diddled with the controls for a while and then I reread the charge dash ability in the ability tree and then it all clicked. But then it took me even longer to figure out that you can charge dash multiple times. Great game.

This game is kinda weird. I was playing the story, doing talents and the finally! I could put talent to this dash ability! I couldn't wait to use it until I realized I have to actually learn it in the game. So I continued playing knowing I will get there and then the game ended. Now I see how much easier it would have been.

Oh. That's a very intended piece of speedrun tech from the developers. We call it charge dash cancel chain. Basically it's a charge dash followed by a stomp to cancel the charge dash, followed by a jump to cancel the stomp, followed by another charge dash. With triple jump this can be done 3 times :) charge dash is amazing for speedrunning and probably one of the most fun movement I have ever experienced in any game

Using this, in a proper time frame, will also save the energy, which is why you can see the energy being returned. Charge dashes into bash also save energy

How did you do to open the first (energy cell) door if you have only 2 and it requieres 4?

Hey there! When you place the energy on a door it is actually removed from your energy bar. So basically I place 2 energy on the door. I level up which replenishes my energy. And then I place the remaining 2 energy on the door. That is the reason I bring that enemy all the way there. So when I kill it I level up.

@@gorilaazul2434 It has been a long discussion, a while ago, on what would be considered a glitch or not. There's a long description on what is allowed in the category, which you can find on the speedrun.com board, but "the overall intent is to create a category that uses what we consider to be intended play mechanics, while not necessarily being constrained to complete the game in the intended order". so in this case, even if the devs did not intend this as the normal order, it is a game mechanic, it is coded in such way that when you place energy in an energy door that amount of energy is removed from your energy pool, and if you level up meanwhile it is refilled. Fun fact, the devs actually added in the Definitive Edition that enemy that we use for that trick, specifically for opening that door in speedruns. In the vanilla Ori and the Blind Forest we used an enemy way back, which made it stupid for a speedrun but still faster.

@@TRazielT I guess that's fair. Even if you are skipping parts of the game or doing them in a different order, there is no exploit of the game's code or engine. It seems a bit dodgy, but I can accept that definition. Thanks for the quick reply.

I think 9:56 is a glitch. And everything caused by this - glitch as well. Gumo orb wrong animation order, disabled lasers, etc.

Hi, at 06:45 you pick up the orb and place it down, but it reappears at that "light wall" 10s later when doing the pick up animation. Am I missing something?

That orb follows you around. That's an actual game mechanic. Nothing fancy going on there

Can someone explain 9:56? Based on my playthroughs of the game, at that point you don't have enough energy orbs to open the gate, but he was still able to do it?

Energy orbs that were put into a gate are temporarily used up. Gaining a level up recovers all empty energy and life, so they gain another set of orbs to put into the gate while the previous orbs are still inside it. Here they prepare with enough XP that a single kill leads to a level up and drag that mob all they way to the door to kill it after using the first set of orbs.
