There is something oddly satisfying about watching people organise their desks / homes / lives. That segment with the pens and the clear Container Store drawers was almost like meditation. And today's quote was like a cymbal crash, Sarra, as I really didn't expect that "to suck" part :P

I got 456 out of the 2089 words I "needed" today but am telling myself that that is a lot more than zero words. I have Sunday off and there is a four day weekend coming up which is plenty of time to catch up. Your new desk setup is so pretty.

Good morning, Sarra. You look tired but I bet it's a good feeling to know you're still hangin' in there. It's not about what we THINK we can do but we ACTUALLY accomplish. Every word is a step forward. The trip to Austin sounds amazing. Don't get distracted by all the pretties, though I know you are more than ready for private self-care time. I usually take a couple of days during Nano but Bob's schedule didn't allow that this year. I'm okay with that. There's a couple weeks the first part of December. I'll keep writing til the rough is done. Pretty set-up. Putting lights on one of my office Christmas trees today. Will show on IG when it's finished. Creative Blessings!

I love the night writing section. For my first Nano, my son was 18 months old and I tucked the writing into all the nooks and crannies and deep into the night. Now that kid is 14 and I'm having to stay up later to be with him. I see more night writing in my future! Thanks for everything!

That was so peaceful watching you organise your supplies and so satisfying seeing them sorted in that rainbow colour thank you :) I am sitting here laughing a little bit about your planner problem 😂 it’s just I am getting probably 4 planners with the intent of making a Franken-planner with them for next quarter and it’s all your fault! I am teasing but until I took HB90 this past quarter and started watching your channel I had zero planners. Now it’s like a new addiction haha. So thank you for that. No seriously not being sarcastic thank you. I have always loved stationary but I had like a fear of wrecking anything pretty and so I switched to digital at a young age. I am really liking physical planners now though because I can give myself gold stars. Seriously stickers all the stickers. I love them. Good luck with your hotel night! I am doing a “10k weekend” this weekend myself and it’s hard work but the focus is really helping the flow. I’m finding more of the humour I was wanting (at least I hope, guess I will find out come revision time). November is disappearing so fast it’s hard to believe.

The NaNoWriMo event used to be a thing in which people would submit their own papers to Chris Baty and his friends, and they would manually count the words. Nowadays, the event has become more of a self-competition. And if you fail to win, then you always have next year. Also, consider this: the NaNoWriMo event is fairly recent in human history. Before, creative writers would spend as long as they want on a novel, while having another job to feed themselves and their families (or being fed by the breadwinner of the family). So, if you don't manage to win NaNoWriMo this year, then you can just take whatever you have and finish it in the following month. Choosing words carefully and thoughtfully is a lot better than cramming a bunch of words onto a manuscript just to win NaNoWriMo, you know.
