ORGANIZING MY RECIPE BINDER // Simple Recipe Organizer + How I Store My Recipes

I am finally re organizing my recipe binder and showing you how I store my recipes with this simple recipe organizer idea. While I love a good cookbook, my go to is using this binder for all of our favorites, whether I find them online and print them out or even in magazines!

This was a fun one! I have two tips for you. 1: Get dividers with pockets for recipes you haven't tried yet so that they are in the appropriate section and are right up front so that you don't skip over them. This way you don't have to bother with a sheet protector or post-its until you decide to keep it. 2: Keep the recipes for the current week outside the binder (I keep them with my handwritten meal plan) so you don't need to go searching for them, then just file them away when you're done with the week and onto planning the next week. Also, I do keep my sides in the same binder as my entrees so that I'm usually just working out of that one binder for dinners. Always love your videos!!!

I wrote my recipes , I have typed some up. Don’t have many recipes but putting them in a binder is key. When I pass away my kid will remember and know how to cook the meals he likes. He eats everything I give him since little that’s the key don’t make food difference form them because then you just thought the child that from now on “ you don’t like it you get something else.❤

Hi, I’ve been doing this for about 10 yrs, I write down things on the recipe if we want to change it for next time, plus some recipes we love, others are ok, so what we do is give them a grade A-C, anything we didn’t like, obviously we toss, we love the grading system. Have a good week.

I just love how her brain works, there is something so fun and satisfying about seeing her go through those papers and having all the materials at hand to finish the project. It's just nice. :)

I do something similar with recipes. I use pocket dividers and ALL my untried recipes go into those pockets for each category. I also put a table of contents in front of each section…it is a lined paper that I just hand write the page number and recipe on that page. Each category starts fresh with a page 1 so it is very easy to just keep adding tried and true recipes. I got rid of almost all my regular cookbooks!

Many years ago I did what you are doing now, except I made a notebook for 2weeks worth of meals to do, from veggie, salad, breads drinks etc. mainly for going shopping, less time in the store . I did a notebook for appetizers and drinks because we have friends who drop in and we start out with them and move on to cooking or eating out. I have just now made one for slow cooker, instant pot and make ahead freezer meals, will see how that works out. Just wait it will kept growing in making books it seems. LOL

I still love index cards for recipes. Writing things down makes me not get too obsessive in collecting them. Super easy to flip through and sort because they are vertical. My mom writes the date she used the recipe and whether it was good on the recipe. I don't think it's dumb to keep the "don't like" ones.

We found hello fresh to always have good meals, but as someone who enjoys to cook I found myself craving more complicated recipes or ones I could repeat in the future. Great video. Instead of binders I use magazine boxes. For my favorite, go to recipes, I keep a copy on my cloud drive in case I need to refer to a recipe when I am at the grocery store. Not really a recipe organizing tip. I do all my cooking for the week in one day. It takes me a few hours. I may freeze part of it to use during another week. I started this while I was working full time and decided to keep it up in retirement.

It must be so wonderful to know how to do all you do.😊 how did you get all your recipes to be the same size sheets? I literally have a draw full of cut out recipes from old magazines that are about six inches by six inches. What would you do with cut out little size recipes?
