For Father's Day 2013 my son and I went and saw Blazing Saddles at the Michigan Theater in A2. We come in and they have an organist playing some selections and when it was time for the movie, the organ and player slowly lower into the floor and the show began. It was awesome. Go Tigers.

The Alabama Theater in Birmingham features music from a Wurtlizer organ before showtimes. Like the Michigan Theater, the organ rises from and reactracts into the flloor. Pretty neat!

There's no better memories than being a kid and watching the game and having Harry Caray come out at the 7th inning stretch to sing Take Me Out To the Ballgame

The Braves' organists have had a terrific sense of humor with walk up music for the opposition for decades. Nothing timeless, but I will always love the chant or "Apache" playing after Andruw has just clubbed one. And I was also mesmerized by "Hell's Bells" watching Hoffman come in live at Jack Murphy Stadium.

@@thebaseballprofessor Oh, I meant them playing the actual song on the PA system. You asked about the sounds of the game in general at the end; only the first sentence was organ-related.

I grew up a little south of Seattle Washington. I've been attending Mariner's game's as long as I can remember. During the seventh inning stretch they play the organ for "take me out to the ballgame" and then switch over to a song afterwards. The song was Louie Louie from the 80's till about 10 years ago. Nowadays the Mariner's play a song by Macklemore. My kids like Macklemore so I don't complain. (Much)

Precorded organ for "take me out to the ballgame" is the norm for the minor league ballparks and most others. Do the Mariners play a certain song after the team wins at home? It's "I Love LA" by Randy Newman at Dodger Stadium.

I remember watching Cardinals games in the 80s when they played Budweiser jingles on the organ.

The Giants ditched their live organist around 1982 or so. In 2010, they brought back a new organist (Steve Hogan), but only for day games.

Best ballpark sounds? Two come to mind: crack of the bat and ball hitting glove. Organ, peanuts, cold beer. Get your program, it ain't ain't chopped ham, it's a program. Cigar leaf crackle, Hot dogs later.

It's something like six or seven ballparks that still have a live organist. What a shame. If I were Manfred, I'd make live organ music a requirements for every franchise.
