Remember, brothers and sisters, it's like my Dad used to tell me, "When you borrow something from someone, try to give it back better than when you got it." These folks sure did the song justice, God bless.

You did justice to a classic song!!! Growing up in those time couldn't get any better! At 65 life is great! The era was once in a lifetime, if you were born and grew up with all of those beautiful master pieces you were truly blessed. I would not have change it for all of the money in this WORLD!!! Music was Music with so much meaning to it. It was always song from their heart. You know when you heard your song on the radio, it hit you right in the heart! Continue doing music like this!!!! 🥰🥰🥰

@ra-londraplair7482 • say that again even though I was born in 71 had 11 other siblings that were older than myself. What an exciting time to be alive! Our house was always lots of singing, dancing plus mom was always singing at the auditorium and on WDIA radio along with her group. If you were born after maybe 73 or 74 no doubt you missed the mark. All I can say is memories, memories, memories most older generation I knew has passed on but they were longevity type of people and men were MEN‼️‼️‼️

WOW! Cold Blooded!!!! This is it! They captured the simple, mellow, message that the original piece put down. I was there back in 74 fresh back from Nam and trying to get it together. This song means a lot to me way to go. The trombone is the real deal!!!! I love it!

Is true
The original is by William DeVaughn (NOT Curtis Mayfield as some erroneously report) and was done phenomenously by Pepe Marquez, in tandem with a cover of Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes' "You Know How To Love Me." Please give them both a listen. This version is pleasant enough but a little slowed down for my taste, though Ricky Luchesse's trumpet solo at 5:07 gives it just the spice it needs to register on my Richter scale! There are at least eleven different covers on this song by bands of different backgrounds and I am glad to finally see the song getting the recognition it deserves, from all quarters!

I’m 57 and I’m grateful that I have still have my mom and my dad in spite of our difficulties and issues that have come because of my dad’s abuse. I have learned that it could have been worse. I used to be mad at my mom because she never left my dad. I went to counseling and therapy and I have talked to a lot of men. Boys need their dads and girls need their mothers. Me and mom talked after many years later and agreed that life would have been worse without my dad. I’m the oldest of 10 7 brothers and 2 sisters. I have been in therapy since I was 20 , I’m 57 today. My parents have been divorced for 20 years and we have all managed to keep a decent relationship with each other. My parents are getting older. My mom is 76 and my dad is 79. And I truly am blessed to still have them. Even though we have our differences I just try to talk to them. My mom gets it but my dad doesn’t. And that’s okay. Not everyone gets it. At least I still have him and we all still love each other.

William DeVaughn kept driving to get his music out. He was a Jehovah's Witness. Many tried to rip him off. But he was a good man and persisted and got this produced in Motown. Then he returned to his humble beginnings going door to door seeking contributions for Jesus. You can't make this up. Oh my Lord. Just be thankful for what you got. And God Bless William and Peace Be with that Brother forever. And Peace and gratitude be with you all. Cause that's what he and Jesus would've wanted. And no, I don't drive no great big Cadillac.
