Thanks for allowing us to follow you on your cross country journey back to CA! About the black paint, I know this will run your budget through the roof if you have it done at a shop but a ceramic coat and paint correction should be in your Top 5 upgrades needed on your Type R. It was for mine (actually #3 only list). Tint was the first thing I had done on my R but glad you had yours done already. Glad you’re strongly considering to ceramic coat and perform a paint correction. Upgrade the wheels/tires afterwards. Put together a needs vs. wants list to help ease the conscience. I think those other upgrades would be nice to add towards the summer time. Look into the Gram Lights 57DRs 18x9.5 like what I have. Hook up with Thomson at System Motorsports and see what he has in stock. I had to wait a few months for mine but he may have something in stock for you. Enjoy a nice drive over to the East Bay to Hayward and pick them up from his warehouse to save some money on shipping. Really nice guy and easy to work with. Slap on a current promo code and you can get them for around 1700. Let every other upgrade fall in place after that. I think America’s Tire has a promo on Michelin’s right now. Also see if you can use a military discount for more savings as well! Do everything slowly but surely and within reason. Every little thing you add to your car is like a painter taking every stroke with the brush and then ending up with a masterpiece work of art after all is said and done!

Congrats on the Type R! Been quietly following your channel for a while now love the content and just want to say great job. The good thing about black cars is almost any color wheel will look good. Bronze and black is a fire combo though. ESR wheels has a forged line up that is budget friendly, their RF2 looks really clean on the Type R. I’ve personally began to really like the 5 spoke designs on the R like the gramlights 57cr or even the regamaster EVO II. Just have fun with it, as long as you love it that’s all that matters brother!

I check in frequently and I have to say, it's amazing seeing you in the Type R you've always wanted! Big happy and jealous! xD Hope to see this thing do some pulls, but even more so on a track turning laps!

Loving the videos so far man and I agree that the wheels should match the car

General AS 255/35/20 tires fit perfectly on the fk8. They absorb the potholes well too. I got a set from discount tire from $730ish. Well worth it to me. You won't even have to spend the money on wheels, save it for other mods.

Hey man just found your channel today and i’m thinking of getting an 8th gen from a dealership for 7k with 111,000 miles i’m super excited. We’re test driving it on saturday and i’m just praying it doesn’t have problems

To turn on rear wiper go in reverse while wipers are on. Bronze or machine black Titan 7 ts5 - 18x9.5 +45 5 x120....no rub if lowered with SWIFT SPEC-R LOWERING SPRINGS - 2017+ CIVIC TYPE-R (FK8)

I have a 2017 type r, I think the Titan 7 TR10 look great on the Type R! They’re super lightweight strong wheels and meant for the track but also have the aesthetic looks.

Titan 7 TS5 18*9.5 bronze are dope on the black! I have them on my 18 R. On 265/35/18 RE-71R Bridgestone. My care still on stock suspension so the tire fills up gap between fender and tire. Alot more peace of mind getting of stocks. The titans are forge rims for a decent price. I would get the Michelin 4s tires on any rim you get if you don't plan on tracking the car much

I literally laughed out loud at the one and only BBQ saying it was the worst. And then the text messages being read back. Lolol 🤣🤣

Sick outro. I agree with you about the wheels. An aggressive and sharp design would fit reall well. I scrolled through Tirerack and here's a couple suggestions in no particular order: Flow One Race Spec - F2 Savini Black Di Forza - BM14 Forged One Competition - FF10 (these are $pendy) O.Z. - Ultraleggera HLT (Gold or Bronze) BBS - CI-R (19in)

You're slowly making your way back home lol. I hate driving unfamiliar interstates in rain like that. I drove through Kentucky one time on I-65 and it was raining so hard you couldn't see the lanes and it was very curvy, in the middle of nowhere. But man that 8th gen makes me miss my old 09 EX-L. I should've kept that car.

R mode stiffens up the suspension, increases throttle response and I think it makes the steering a bit more weighty than sport... Maybe more boost than sport as well

They are pricey but some nice wheels are Advan RS2s. Also if you end up getting that AWE exhaust you are going to love it. By far some of the nicest sounding exhausts available. I was tossed on whether to get the MAPerformance street exhaust or the AWE touring one for my Si and ended up going AWE and I don’t regret it.

NSX Y spokes - All you need to know. 19" with ET55. Its very close to factory wheel offset and they're not as expensive as you think I got mine for about $625/wheel including shipping. Do it!!

Your the reason why i got my 2020 si. Now i want a type R.

For wheels Enkei Kojin look super sick especially on the type r, get with an offset below 30 for some nice concavity, plus the 5 spoke shows off the brembos more 😍

I personally went with the ce28sl. 18x9.5 44 offset. I could only find them in "takata green" so I had them powder coated satin black and I love the look! I feel 18s subdue the look and the ce28sl still give it that Japanese style. Offset is very important in terms of handling and torque steer. From what I understand you need 45 or higher offset to not reintroduce torque steer. I could only find that rim in 44 but its close enough and the torque steer I've noticed has been barely noticeable. Plus its a smoother ride and I don't cringe on potholes. I feel like it pulls better too bc they are the lightest wheels on the market to my knowledge.

I saw an NSX today and fell in love.

I’m a fan of bronze wheels on the black Type R. I don’t have an actual wheel recommendation. So many good ones. I would suggest 18” with tire size 245/40R18 to stay true to OEM diameter. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is absolutely the best choice.

Dude if you're ever back in Nash would love to do some coffee and cruisin. Just bought a 2012 Accord V6 coupe recently. Keep up the cool vids man!

@cameron Hill u should get ur car clear vinyl wrap like the bumper hood fenders and front left and right mirrors also check out graphene coating..its more protection than ceramic...
