The freezer is usually the better place to select. Not many selector’s and typically just a few forks. Also smaller area. If you can handle the brutal cold, that’s the place to be.

Question man, how much do you make an hour as an order filler and can you get any incentive for pulling over production? Reason i ask is i'm a meat and produce order filler for walmart and make 29.75 and can make about $39 an hour with full incentive pulling 150%. Was just curious how it is over there compared to here

Yeah stay at Walmart. 26/hr max, the only incentive to go fast is to not get fired. I get over time after 8 hrs of work in a day. That's 39/hr. But only in overtime do I see that. Stay at Walmart that's the best pay for this job I've ever heard of.

It's not going to mean anything because standards are different in different warehouses. 100% is about 265 cases per hour in freezer and about 300 in produce. Most days I pull around 100% max I pull is 125% ish and some days I'm down 90% but I always hit standards by the end of the week.

@Sysco Cooler Selector I took a 200 dollar camera apart. I covered it with scotch tape. Then I cut a hole in my hat bill and shoved it in. The camera lens hangs from the bill and sits on my skin in between my eyes. You cannot buy what I made. The camera was originally a "Ordro Ep7".

@Sysco Cooler Selector you got to get creative. It's hard to get that first person view just right. The ordro ep7 or ep8 or a go pro would do the job. The ordro comes with a head mount but it sits on the side of your face. Plus it can get in the way. If you do go pro then you'll probably have to settle for a chest mount but that gives a lower angle. Go pros don't come with mounts so you need to buy separate. Or you can break a perfectly good camera and tape it to your head.

It's so cold it hurts, but I'm used to it now. Down to -15F in ice cream section. There's less heavy boxes. The boxes are almost always completely different and random. So it's harder to match sizes when building a base. You will never get a super solid base like you might in produce. The boxes are light and sorta slick, so your loads are more likely to shift. Even though I was experienced in produce, when I switched to freezer, there was a learning curve. I started spilling again like a 90-day guy, and I was kinda slow. In my freezer, you have to move faster to make standards than you do in produce. Idk if that's true everywhere. If you take your jack outside of the freezer condensation will form on your forks and freeze. So when you go back in your pallet may slide right off your forks. Same goes if you have a wet pallet. It can be tricky to start an order when your pallet slides off everytime you accelerate. There is less people in the freezer, so rarely is someone in my way. The freezer is ok, but I'd rather be in produce. The hours are better though.
