If you think that’s gruesome here’s some real gruesome mantis facts: like spiders they tend to eat their mates. However, unlike spiders. The males body will continue to try and mate long after the head is removed. Meaning they have a very good chance of mating even if the female mantis decides she wants a snack. The don't know _they_ are flies, they don't have the cognitive function required for self identification or recognition of mortality. They don't consciously associate or identify anything happening around them with them "selves"- they can't "see" another fly be eaten by a predator and understand that they are also a fly and the predator has just ended the life of its kin.. its just a bunch of stuff going on - it doesn't _mean_ anything to a fly Most insects instincts are reactionary; not cognitive

I know what you present in your bugz.uk videos are "natural" behaviors but your investment in artificially setting up "scenes" that involve or predictably end up in violence to or between insects for the "fun and enjoyment" of reveals rather disturbing, scary and sad aspects of psychology in adults.

The most common assumption is people just painstakingly sit and wait, like professional documentaries. But to be fair, there are still so many people who do. You're just way more likely to find bullcrap setups from non professionals on KZread.

There was a Komodo Dragon that ate a pregnant deer alive. It tore open it's rear so it's snout can reach inside the mothers womb and slurp up the baby. Again, while the mother was still alive. It than began to slowly eat the insides of the mother deer until it slowly passed out and died. As for humans... There's a video of a Cartel Gang slowly slicing at some guys neck with a freaking box cutter while the dude is still alive. Probably the worst known beheading soo far. All while playing a twisted party song. Both of these were recorded and posted online. There's sick stuff out there. Best we just become grateful with what we do have. You feel?
