ashleymeadows736 Yes, when we teach our children that dominating these highly intelligent and social animals is all right. If you don't mind watching an animals suffer for the sake of entertainment, I guess that's O.K. You can't tell me that looking at these pools that these animals are too big for these pools, I don't understand why. Sea World starves these whales, Sea World neglect these animals when the park closes, Sea World drugs their whales every morning to keep them from being aggressive towards each other. Sea World deprives them of a natural diets which lacks all the victims that us as humans need to keep healthy. Sea World takes baby orcas from their mothers when babies never leave their mothers side for life. Sea world deprives them of very much enrichment or stimulation they need to thrive and survive. Orcas have emotions and capabilities similar to us. For example, they can become depressed, frustrated sad. They are capable of mourning their dead, revenge and committing suicide. Because of these emotions on top of lack of space and poor diets they don't live to their life expectancy of 60 to 100. They perish in these tanks around the age of 20. A couple have even committed suicide. When the public found this out, Sea World lost half their revenue and most of their share holders. I'm hoping to convince others of what Sea World doesn't want the visitors to know. I'm not singling you out. I hope this information will be shared with as many people who are not aware of this as possible so we can put an end to their suffering. Thank you for reading. I assume it's a polar bear which does hunt in the same waters as orcas.

@@walkaboutmike Polar bears do hunt in the same waters. Orcas have been known to attack them if they get to close to the surface of the water and while migrating.

They stopped the breeding program so when the last orca dies in captivity no more shows

@oliviak2963 that makes sense but I have found several sources online where they claim that orchas are no longer in any shows or that they are not expected to perform tricks 🤔 I just watched Blackfish for the first time, hence the curiosity 😅

There fins are down for a reason this is so depressing

that reason is because they are at the surface a lot. the fin has no bone in it, only tissue so it tends to curve. the orcas that hunt seals that are at the surface a lot actually can also have curved dorsal fins. its not just the ones in the SeaWorld parks.

@@SeaWorld_Emma Yes! But their are several reasons behind it. Stress, frustration, poor diets, lack of space to swim and spending all of their time at the surface in warm temperatures and sun. In the wild only 1% of Orcas have bent fins, and those who hunt seals do not. You are right about 5heir fins having no bone, but they do have cartilage where calcium breaks down. They use their fins to keep balance and help them cut through choppy water. It's another saying, " if you don't use it you lose it ' When released back into the wild, their fins stand back up.
