Right! I thought that would be a great use of it if he decided to slice the whole thing. Then fill each slice with a transparent color epoxy or just leave the holes. Either way would be a very interesting lamp shade. And he could have used the bottom where the orbeez didnt fall out as the base of the lamp... on top of some of that zebra wood. oh my word... I AM not wood working. I get bored half way thru and give up. But now I'm thinking of wood working designs.. No! "Remember your past Lee-Ann. Forget the keys, clearly this is a bowl for M&M's or skittles.. however, the top piece, with the orbeez still in it, may degrade now that the corners have been shaved off and the the holes have opened.. the air will get in and the trapped orbeeez will begin to dry out, thus opening channels where the orbeez touch, this effect will migrate through the piece and the colours will fail.. Suggest you fill the external rim of holes with new epoxy, (time consuming yes considering the curved surface), but the piece will fail otherwise..

Love the result. I would have personally used a pipette or syringe or something to fill each individual hole in the bottom with a different color instead of doing splotches or color. I know it would have been a real challenge because resin is annoying to work with sometimes, but I think it would have looked interesting. Almost like the Orbeeez were still there. Cheap one-use pipettes might work well in those situations, if you're doing something similar in the future! I'd love to see a honeycomb type project in the future. Maybe one of those honey pot things out of yellow transparent resin? You might be able to buy some honeycomb (or fake honeycomb) and incorporate it somehow into the honeypot project. Just and idea!

I am so glad there were Orbeez for you to play with in this.... 20:02 is the moment I actually died laughing. Seriously! And that heavenly wood....so glad you saved the shavings because mix those with resin and you get even MORE!!! O_O What if you mixed unwatered orbeez into resin WITH a little of the Zeeeebra wood shavings? I know you already thought of that....Just, thank you for brightening my day. :) The result is beautiful! :)

I suffer from it and it sucks. It's completely irrational and I know it's just my monkey brain trying to avoid infection and disease. Looking at certain hole patterns turns my stomach and makes me sweat. This video wasn't so bad. The first video was fine until he started blowing the orbeez out with compressed air.

Fascinating. I’ve never watched wood turning, so thanks a lot for making me think of yet another time-consuming and expensive equipment-intensive hobby to look into. Yeah, thanks a lot! 😜😆😜 That wood is so spectacular by itself, though, I wish you had used something of a more solid color in which to set the resin pieces, and let the zebrawood stand on its own as something separate. Fun experiment, though!
