This is why grams is so very important measurement. One cup of all purpose flour is almost 100 grams. Not all flour is the same. She states 475 grams. Always follow the grams. Do the math. That’s why you had to add about another cup of flour. We all need a little kitchen scale to measure in grams. They are so inexpensive and so cute Really they would have come out with less flour. More like a cake. Thank you Demetra for adding grams to your videos! 😊

I made these today, added Cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger and a little mixed spice, orange juice and walnuts, they are crispy and yum!: One thing you taught me wait till they are cool then cut them, such a good idea! Some recipes say to mark dough half way through before cooking no need for that! Thanks, great for vegans although i am no vegan!
I just made these for Lent. They are delicious! I found that making them in 4 loaves works very well.

Delicious...thank you for sharing this recipe. Perfect since we are in Great Lent...we like them a bit soft as well :) Only issue I had is when I was slicing them after I let them cool for 15 minutes they would break...maybe I baked a bit too long as you say ovens vary...will be making them again and again!! Thank you

TY sweet Dimitroula mou! You're exactly like me that like our biscotti on the slightly chewy side.I hate the crisp due to having tooth problems. I slightly under under bake them. My mom slightly under bakes her biscottis too. I'll definitely make these to indulge on for Lent.

Tip....keep egg yolk aside and with fingers spread egg yolk over entire log sealing any cracks or holes. It prevents splitting . I sprinkle sugar over it too.

Are they also very pale in color and have an anise flavor?
I had the same problem with the sticky dough…however I did add about a cup of flour.

Is this any different than Biscotti? I'm queen of grandma's Biscotti. Why use baking soda? I'm curious. Biscotti has no baking soda. NO cloves either. I'll definitely try olive oil compared to butter oil or lard
