tbh. As a developer, Devops is a pain in the ass to work with. I just want to distribute my code whatever it's a native app or a large web app or a server container. They said "Docker" is easy, it's actually a pain in the ass, just a different way to set it up. Would take just as much time for me to spin up a VPS/droplet and set it all up "manually"

And a good salesman too. Do you get that he's always on a sales pitch? Always comparing Oracle with Amazon and he's not ashamed of always putting Amazon down. I find it actually very boring. It's a mantra he repeats over and over in every Keynote he gives at Oracle Open World.

He should have said "I am a cyber-samurai!"

If AWS does not move away from Oracle database very soon; their going to look like a fake company who does not use their own products that they are selling.

Watching him saying it has "Unhackable Cloud System", made me want to hack its database even though I know nothing about hacking. Really. That is indeed an arrogant attitude. Believe me, guys. Just because of this guy, I think I am gonna put aside my pursuit of happiness in developing mobile game and focus on hacking instead.

No way that a customer can "hack" out of the boundaries of a single VPS and take control of our cloud infrastructure. But he can access other users' data? Thefuck?

+ Milan Yeah that entire waffle about the separate nature of his customers VMs and the companies control software was lame. Yes it is likely better to isolate the customer VMs from the controllers. But the claims that no customers can break in and take over the control servers is laughable. Has Larry never heard of a zero-day?

+Roger Barraud Why would you need a definition? It is a pretty straight forward term that any tech would understand. It may just seem like buzzwords to a non tech but that does not matter as the term is aimed at techs anyway.

Announcing the Oracle Unhackable Cloud... ...so presumably it'll launch under the name "Titanic"? :-/

@@VestigialHead For the same reason as Oracle. Users are too lazy to migrate. Literally all of the new products I participated in started off with Postgres instead of MySQL.

All Our Base Are Belong To Us... Gentlemen, Make Your Time! Inference: You will not be allowed to run your Oracle db on your own platform, it will all be assimilated. Advice: Get out NOW, as fast as you can, IF you can :-(

I am not interested, because they are doing for Government or private companies, somethings, I am all for tech which helps normal people in day to day life. those products or inventions, i have nothing against these seniors though, because they are doing what they set out to do for their lives.

Just cause you don't understand database cyber protection doesn't mean he is talking nonsense.. over 90% of fortune 100 companies secured under their database.... I'm sure they are talking "nonsense"... lol. The star wars reference was poking fun at the fact they use robots that out pace humans in finding flaws or risks and then eliminate them.. this never ends and only constantly gets more and more secure the longer the robots operate which is never ending..(meaning they are out performing humans or potential criminal hackers) hope you understand the "nonsense" now..

Cause that is exactly what they do because the robots never stop working.. humans do.... this minimizes risk a human will not outwork the robots who are constantly finding and fixing security loopholes.. that is what he was saying their software uses
