They’ll reply either with ‘oh but english names aren’t made fun of’ or ‘english names dont have sacred meanings’ When xenophobia exists and literally two days ago i saw a tiktok of a chinese girl living in china having an english name (Elizabeth) and she got bullied so hard in china (cause everyone had a chinese name except her) that now she’s ashamed of her real name and had to change it. Plus all cultures have at least some sacred meaning; like Dante is a very important italian name yet i saw hispanics and black people having that name. I also saw plenty of chinese people in china having italian names like Stella, fabio and Alice. And the fact that they think all asian names are all sacred with mystical meanings when some of them just mean ‘flower’ and ‘beautiful’ it’s really embarrassing tbh. And im saying this as someone who is half thai. They just want segregation and tribalism. They don’t want to live peacefully with people🤣🤣

Cut to now and everyone in the industry who knows about him calls him just Koji. And this is all public knowledge from the noclip documentary that came out just before Stormblood. I'm also pretty sure that while certain names are from specific cultures/nationalities it's not illegal to give your children Asiatic names of any kind even when not being Asiatic. I live in Italy and there's this Manga shop near my house, the owner had a kid with his wife and they called him Akira, they can't complain about it being a Japanese name because any name isn't exclusive to the place it was "created" as far as I know.

The most hilarious part about that is, that many of the english (western) names only show the meaning of the name in a different language like Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Arabic, etc. Astra? Greek for Star. Michael? Hebrew for "Who is like God?" George? Taken from the Greek word for farmer. And the list goes on. Bruh I'm Asian with an English first name and a surname that happens to be the name of a Spanish city. Now fight me. This reminds me of when Filipino-Americans complained about an American restaurant named Barkada in Washington DC back in 2020 which forced the owners to change its name but gladly it never happened. Their reasons are well, they think it's "white privilege" and "cultural appropriation" which is a typical white reasoning. These are also the same people who thinks that getting a tattoo from Whang-od makes them more Filipino. As a Filipino who actually grew up in the Philippines, anyone can use the word barkada as it simply means a group of friends and not something only exclusive to us here. You and the bois? It's a barkada. All the online friends that kept you sane throughout the pandemic? Again, it's a barkada. To be honest this is where I started to have a disdain towards Filipino-Americans.

I do wonder why, when Filipinos move here, they choose the deep freeze of America to settle in (also known as the northern Midwest and the Rocky Mountains). Landlocked, colder than Mars sometimes, blizzards with the windspeeds of typhoons, vortices of death descending from the heavens by the dozens for three months straight every year, literal blocks of ice punching through roofs every spring and summer, an utter lack of oxygen in late summer because of all the wildfires started by the desert-like heat...and they CHOSE this. This place is about as opposite the Philippines as it's possible to get, climate-wise, and yet it's a magnet to Filipinos. I'm not saying I don't want them here (they're perfectly welcome), but I'm baffled as to their motives and incentives.

"Hei" is also Finnish for "Hello". Funny how different words use similar sounds, it's almost as if our species has a limited number of sounds we can make. Not to mention how some names occur in different languages and cultures as well. "Ken" can be short for Kenneth, but it can also be short for Kentaro. "Lee" can just as easily be an East Asian name as it can be short for Leroy or Leonard. Or, someone can have an "Asian name" because their parents thought it was pretty. If you're offended by someone's name, then they best be named something truly awful, like Mucussius, Dumpy or Prolapsia, or you just come off as an insane person.

One great way to sew division is to have absolutes in regards to ownership or superiority of specific cultural elements. We as humans require adaptation and integration of new thoughts and ideas in order to progress. Imagine thinking only one culture is allowed to use a specific technology or language. This line of thinking leads to and promotes all the phobias.

Me too, I always find it very funny when they get offended and get worked up on our behalfs more than we even do in reality nor do we even care. But I have a theory that just because they are a mess and like to divide themselves so much and like to find and make trouble, they view everything as wrong or inappropriate just because of their own understanding of how things 'work' and or how they have first world complexity problems but as a matter of fact, we're almost resistant or are a bit much stronger flexible and invincible to such sensitivity matters or so. We rarely have any problems with anything and we're quite durable and I think that's half of all Asians, and base by my own observation, they really just do it to 'sympathize' or try to be "one of us" and or care for us just like the superiority complex thing because tbh I've never seen anyone be so agressive over something they're not part of and be confident. Just in Twatter.
