glad to know. I was a outboard mechanic for a very long time but retired about the time these engines came out so learning on mine. I am replacing my jigh pressure pump in a few days myself. I happened to get two engines that I thought would be gun playing with. An opti and a 175 EFI. The efi runs great but has one cylinder that was about thirty pounds light. Pulled the head a couple of days ago and found the piston edge slightly eaten away at the exhaust port. The head gasket had a small spot that leaked water into it. No scoring so will do some videos on this repair myself. Ill just pull it down far enough to pull that one rod and piston, a minor hone to break the glassy condition and back together. As for my opti.... lol as time and money allows.. I really want to run it on my boat ...... have a great one

sometimes pulling the bottom cowl saves lots of time lol. I have found several small things on this engine. The number 6 injector wires had been smooshed and the hot was broken, another on number three. took forever to find an after market control box and harness that I could afford. Just little things. The engine has 870 hours on it and was used by searay as a test engine for their boats in Merriyt Island Florida. Ended up getting that and the efi 175 for a gew hundred dollars so no complaints here . The compression is 135 on all cylinders so very pleased. It allowed me to be able to work on them for a reasonable amount. I think the high psi pump will be it for running this. Fuel sprayed into the intake makes itr start right up so that must be it. Air pressure is good. After this its just trim seals on the tnt and off to the water we will go!

great. I just picked up tje 2006 version and you taught me how to do a couple of things. I was trying to figure out where that vapor line went. Mine is missing the top plastic so i didnt know what it was or where. Now I will just route it to the intake and attach it there out of the way so it squirts into that if it need to let go of vapor. Thanks again

Glad it was a help, it is the reason I put these out in the first place. I have picked up so many things from other peoples video's over the years. Other than having to clean the injectors a year later this motor has been fantastic and is running strong.

Needs to be mounted on a boat to test for high R. P. M. to test if crankcase fuel pump is delivering enough fuel at full throttle. The diaphragm pump is working at full efficiency.

You need tracker valves on this, lumpy idle. Also, turn up the idle.

Been running great for the last 2 years. The only time I have a problem is when batteries need to be replaced. Opti's do not like any type of low voltage.

Where did you get your fuel pump from? Is it aftermarket, or OEM? It looks like the OEM pump is $594. There are several different aftermarket pumps available for way cheaper. I'm thinking about trying an aftermarket to save some money.

Sorry for the late reply, just saw your message. The pump is aftermarket and cheap. It has worked great for the last couple of years, but It think it may be on the way out. The opti is getting hard to start if it has been sitting. (It's fine when you use it day after day.) It seems like the fuel pump is draining back.
