Plaxton coaches of this era are simply gorgeous.

You know your getting old when a bus you`d have gone to school on is classed as vintage

School trip coach. I mooned a lorry driver from the back of one of these when I was ten. 😊

Simply the ultimate, remember going to school in late 70s on similar one, journey was highlight of the day.

Reminds me of the coaches we went on school trips in I remember they sounded awesome

Seen Bibby's coaches on the Fylde coast over the years and always well turned out no matter what the weather, and this coach proves it. They should keep her as she is already in a good home

As I remember, Seddon Atkinskon were a Lancashire company that were based in Oldham, also built trucks that were either bin wagons, or generator trucks for mobile fair ground people. Those generator trucks are still knocking about, and most have Gardner engines fitted.

They didn’t build dustcarts but supplied cab & chassis to makers of those vehicles most fairground lorries started life as something else

I think Bibby's of Ingleton should keep it in my opinion. It looks the business it should go to a classic coach enthusiast who will keep it in good condition in another respect l think the company will be making a big mistake l hope the will go to a good home.

Funny I can't remember ever having anything to do with a seddon Atkinson chassis. My dad had a coach company and it was always Bedfords Leylands or AEC until the 1990's, then volvo and DAF. However I can remember him having at least 2 or 3 in that body, air door included.

I can remember in July 1976 going on the Blackwell School Summer Holiday on a Brownes ( Bedford ? ) Coach of this period, luxury travel aboard a 'P' Suffix Registration Plate, looking pretty much the same as this, different livery of course, from northeast West Sussex to the Youth Hostel Association ( Y.H.A. ) Youth Hostel, Bridport, Dorset for 2 weeks of the glorious Dorset Sunshine in the exceptionally hot ☀️🌡 summer of that year . . . Happy Memories !

Good looking coach of the 70s LUT had these but Leopards/volvos in starsky and hutch livery.

Know just what you mean about the smell - I'm convinced I could tell a Plaxton, Duple or ECW interior of that era with my eyes blindfolded.....just by the interior smell! Oh well, everyone needs a party piece! What's the asking price?

Went on a Bibby coach to Tenby in South Wales it was the worst coach trip we ever went on, and the driver was the most miserable horrible driver you could wish for, he repeatedly remarked he didn't want to be on this trip, he didn't talk to his passengers horrible man.

Registered at Luton actually. (Registration mark allocations changed in 1974.) This one was new to Sworders of Walkern near Stevenage.

Ash trays on every seat back. No wonder all of the interior trim was brown.
