I use and love Sheba Nails odorless acrylic monomer. It is one of the best that I personally have tried. It doesn't need resin. There is some yellowing and that is the only draw back. It's not a big problem if you plan on painting them afterwards.

Hi Verdie, I don't know how much it would help but try putting a bit of acetone into the monomer to help speed up the drying process. I can understand your frustration because some monomers are just different but with this brand (which was 1 of the 1st I ever used) isn't the best. When I went back to school I tried Nailsupplyglamour's odorless monomer. I must say I was quite pleased and still use it if nothing else to practice with. Sometimes I still use a bit of acetone to speed up the polymerization time. I hope this helps.

I hear the acetone thing a lot. I don’t want to suggest it because I can’t find anything saying it’s safe to use and that it doesn’t change the chemicals of the monomer in a dangerous way. I will say though I’ve seen a lot of techs mention it.

With odorless you use less monomer to get drier beads

I don’t understand who thought this was a good idea! And only for professionals, no one I know would put up with this system. Resin?, please. Also, I’m clumsy, I’m gonna bump the nails and wreck them if they don’t harden quicker than that. Thanks Verdie ❤️🇦🇺

That sounds like a horrible experience. 20-30 min to set up? That resin looks weird too. Dip liquids are quicker. Have you tried Nail Career Education's odorless?
