1st Infantry Division is deployed on Joint Task Force Afghanistan with 3rd Infantry Division in the Kunar province, Afghanistan. After a long hard battle to secure the Korengal Valley, 1ID and 3ID are heading out on their next patrol moving into the Shuryak Valley. This is no easy task as troops are met with heavy contact, multiple IED threats, and a few other surprises.
