From what I know, Kiko Salazar was the guy behind Morisette’s “Akin Ka Na Lang”. He’s the composer of that song which also became her trademark song.

Kiko Salazar was the composer of Akin Ka Na Lang & Dyan ba sa Langit (Mori’s duet with Jason Dy with beautiful & amazing harmonies-check that out in their Live Wish performance). Kiko also was a producer of some of Mori’s shows in the past.

Thank you Maggie, great reaction! I've always felt that the pandemic was a blessing in disguise for Morissette in some ways. One, her crazy schedule settled down and she was able to get adequate vocal rest for the first time in lord knows how long. Two, her old contract expired so she no longer has to appear each week in the TV variety show that heavily skews toward power belting songs, so she was able to branch out and try new things. Many of my favorite performances of hers are actually the "quarantine performances" like this one. Aside from the obvious Mariah influence, something about this arrangement and performance gives me Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 vibes. Thanks again for the reaction, hope to see more of her from you!

I’ve always thought that our tv networks have always been a hindrance to the growth of Filipino artists. Because they always have to sing songs other than their own. Because they have no time to compose their songs.

@@denniszenanywhere I totally agree with you. There's a definite cultural preference for cover songs, big belters and vocal gymnastics. So what do you do if you're a singer? Play the game so you can land a gig on a TV show that gives you a steady job but may stunt your growth as a vocalist? Or do what you want but at the risk of reduced exposure? And then it makes it harder for those who do decide to pursue an international career, because international preferences are so different. Not every artist is going to reach the sweet spot of getting to do what they want while trying to make a splash internationally, with enough support at home to be able to sustain it all. I'm so happy to see Mori there.

Hi Maggie R.! i have not seen any great singer attempt to Cover that Mariah's difficult song because the speed of the beat of the song. But, not when the Queen Of Covers does it, even the most hard song MY ALL and CAN'T TAKE THAT AWAY ' was also Covered by Queen MORISSETTE. She slayed those songs so effortless! but gave justice like that ' FLY LIKE A BIRD ' You see hoe Mori enjoyed doing that song and She really have fun as She Smiles after the song done! As a fan of Morissette i am so happy to hear a honest comments on my Idol MORISSETTE the Best of the Best Artist/Singer/Performer here in the Philippines. Love you Maggie Stay Safe!

Also "Love You Still" is one of my very favorite Morissette songs; it is Sultry and sexy and just very unique just like her. Another great song to react to. I am also a huge fan of Katrina Velarde. She does some one-take cover sessions that are phenomenal. Papa Knows Best is so good I would love if you could react to that! These two Filipina ladies are at the very top; each one is unique, with different musical giftings. She's had some exceptionally creative covers during the pandemic. Her live cover of Rise Up was epic and had outpaced Andra Day's yt video in viewership with more than 100 million views before it was taken down by YT, for God knows why. I used to think that's the best that song is ever going to be covered, until Mori decided to take it up a notch higher with her acapella cover with the vocal group 3rd Avenue. Released last year, it was Mori's gift to her fans on her birthday. Like Fly Like a Bird, it was also made in quarantine style with all the different voices. It's just pure magic. Would really love to see you review that acapella performance. Be well, Maggie. 🌺🌺
